Un comandante iraní del Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria Islámica murió en la frontera entre Siria e Irak. Oficiales de seguridad iraquíes y milicias locales informaron al canal saudita Al Arabyia que el hecho sucedió entre el sábado y el domingo pasado.
Según el reporte, el vehículo en el que se desplazaba el militar iraní transportaba armas a través de la frontera. Sufrió un impacto al ingresar al territorio sirio según Aurora.
Las fuentes de seguridad iraquíes dijeron a Al Arabiya, que el alto comandante iraní que murió en la frontera entre Siria e Irak, identificado como Muslim Shahdan, falleció junto con tres acompañantes, al ser atacado el rodado en el que viajaba por un dron cuyo origen no ha sido aclarado.
El incidente se produce días después de la muerte del científico nuclear iraní Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, durante una emboscada en las afueras de Teherán. Las autoridades iraníes han acusado por ese suceso a Israel.
El domingo, el jefe del Estado Mayor de las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel, teniente general Aviv Kochavi, advirtió que sus tropas no dejarán de combatir a las fuerzas iraníes y a las milicias pro-iraníes que buscan consolidarse militarmente en Siria.
