La Comunidad judía de Bahía Blanca repudió la agresión antisemita y expresó su consternación ante lo ocurrido en el acto por Janucá frente al Municipio de la ciudad.

La Asociación Israelita de Bahía Blanca, la DAIA filial Bahía Blanca y Jabad Bahía Blanca, con la firma de sus autoridades difundieron un comunicado. En el mismo expresan su preocupación y llaman la atención a la sociedad bahiense por la presencia de estos grupos minoritarios «que atentan contra el respeto a la diversidad y convivencia»

Una persona comenzó de manera violenta a proferir insultos antisemitas en la plaza principal de la ciudad de Bahía Blanca, frente al Palacio Municipal, donde se estaba realizando el acto de encendido de velas por Janucá, que todos los años organiza Jabad.

En determinado momento, se acercó a una persona que lo estaba filmando y le arrojó una trompada. Volvió a gritarle «¡¡que me filmas hijo de puta, que me filmas!!»

Aunque dió la sensación que estaba alcoholizado, el individuo comenzó con los insultos ante el grupo de gente que se disponía a encender la segunda vela de Janucá.

¡»Judíos hijos de puta»!. Junto a Estados Unidos están realizando un genocidio». Luego cotinuó con las amenazas. «hoy estoy yo solo, mañana vamos a ser diez y pasado vamos a ser más». Luego agregó: «Están haciendo lo mismo que hizo Roca con los tehuelches argentinos».

La gente que estaba en el acto, mientras intentaba ignorarlo culminaron la ceremonia cantando el Hava Nagila, la canción tradicional judía en idish.
