Un sospechoso del asesinato de Esther Horgen es arrestado en una operación conjunta de la Policía de Israel, las FDI y la Policía de Fronteras. Se investiga un presunto ataque terrorista.
Por su parte, funcionarios de defensa dijeron el jueves que el sospechoso era un palestino del área de Jenin en Cisjordania. Lo interrogó el Shin Bet (Agencia de Seguridad de Israel).
Esther Horgen, una mujer de 52 años del norte de Cisjordania, fue encontrada muerta en el bosque Reihan de la región.
«Sabía que tarde o temprano pasaría», dijo Benjamin Horgen, el esposo de Esther, luego de que se encontrara al presunto terrorista. «Hicieron un trabajo maravilloso y contamos con las fuerzas de seguridad y el poder judicial».
«Las fuerzas de seguridad, con la ayuda de Dios, pondrán sus manos sobre los perpetradores de este terrible ataque y les harán justicia», dijo la diputada Betzalel Smotrich.
Horgen era un residente de Tel Menashe, una ciudad cercana al bosque. La encontraron a un costado de la carretera en el bosque, marcada por signos de violencia, incluso en la cabeza. La familia denunció su desaparición el domingo. Deja atrás a su esposo, Benyamin, y seis hijos. Su hijo menor celebró su bar mitzvah hace apenas tres meses.
A su vez, el Consejo Regional de Samaria se refirió al incidente como un ataque terrorista. Y, agregó, que a Horgen la encontraron durante la noche con «la cabeza aplastada».
Después del ataque, las FDI dijeron el martes que están aumentando las medidas de seguridad en Cisjordania. Todos los soldados de la División de Judea y Samaria estarán bajo toque de queda hasta el viernes.
En tanto, el presidente Reuven Rivlin fue a visitar a la familia de Horgen el jueves para dar sus condolencias.
«Construiste este maravilloso lugar para criar, amar y con el deseo de ser parte de esta tierra, y no hacer la vida difícil a los demás», dijo Rivlin, refiriéndose a Horgen. «El vacío es enorme y el dolor es enorme. Pero puedes seguir en su luz y en su camino».
«Todos los terroristas y sus ayudantes sabrán que los perseguiremos hasta el amargo final», aseguró la Ministra de Transporte, Miri Regev.
«Todo terrorista despreciable: sepan que las vidas de los judíos no son inútiles», manifestó el ministro de Asuntos y Patrimonio de Jerusalén, Rafi Peretz, tras el anuncio.
Por último, remarcó que «no permitiremos que el terrorismo levante la cabeza y ante cualquiera que intente hacernos daño: los haremos a ustedes».
