Las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) identificaron el lanzamiento de un cohete desde la Franja de Gaza hacia Beer Sheva, en el sur israelí.
El disparo activó el sistema de alerta temprano solamente en un espacio abierto, anunció el portavoz militar. Lo que significa que las sirenas no se escucharon en ninguna comunidad o ciudad.

No se registraron heridos ni daños materiales.

El Canal 13 de la televisión precisó que se trató de un cohete pesado, probablemente de tipo Grad, y que se lanzó contra el área de Beer Sheva. Probablemente en dirección a la base aérea de Hatzerim.

Los terroristas palestinos, que controlan Gaza, lanzaron el cohete cuando el primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu, visitaba la ciudad de Beer Sheva, capital del desierto del Negev, junto a activistas del Likud, para pedir el voto de sus simpatizantes.

No es la primera vez que los terroristas de Gaza intentan intervenir en las elecciones israelíes.

Se espera una respuesta de las FDI en las próximas horas; tal vez después de las 22.00 horas cuando finalice la votación en Israel.

El disparo del cohete rompe con semanas de aparente tregua en la zona.
