Estados Unidos presentó el reporte realizado sobre el año de la pandemia en una conferencia de prensa que brindó el secretario de Estado Antony Blinken y su asistente en el área, Lisa Peterson, y señaló «un retroceso de los derechos humanos en el mundo», refiriéndose a la libertad de expresión, la igualdad de oportunidades debido a la discriminación y las hostilidades generadas internacionalmente por las fuerzas de seguridad, entre otros aspectos.
En la primera sección del apartado sobre Argentina, titulada “Respeto por la integridad de las personas incluyendo la libertad”. Analiza los casos de violencia policial en el país y destaca los esfuerzos del gobierno de Alberto Fernández por contenerla, pero advierte sobre la fragilidad en el combate de la corrupción
El reporte sugiere «una falta de implementación efectiva de la ley». Al tiempo que informa que “hubo varios reportes de que el Gobierno o sus agentes cometieron asesinatos arbitrarios o fuera de la ley”, en relación a las violaciones de Derechos Humanos en manos de las fuerzas de seguridad.
