La Kehilá de Rosario informó a través de sus redes sociales que «el lunes 11 de octubre el Cementerio Israelita Nuevo fue vandalizado, sufriendo el robo de la instalación eléctrica subterránea instalada recientemente, el motor y artefacto que permite la realización de la Tahará (lavado ritual), entre otros elementos».

«Seguiremos trabajando con dedicación y buena fe para preservar el patrimonio que entre todos forjamos, acorde a los valores que sostienen nuestro trabajo y compromiso», agregaron en el comunicado.

Cabe recordar que en julio de 2020, Vis á Vis difundió que al regreso de la cuarentena miembros de la comunidad se encontraron con un triste y lamentable panorama cuando pudieron volver a visitar las tumbas del nuevo cementerio israelita, que está ubicado al costado de avenida Circunvalación, casi 27 de febrero. Allí robaron placas de bronce, rompieron fotos y vandalizaron sepulcros.

Gabriel Dobkin, presidente de la Daia Filial Rosario, describió en aquel entonces que “han vandalizado nuestro cementerio, robaron decenas de placas y destrozaron sepulturas”.

Dobkin comentó que es una “triste y lamentable noticia” y detalló que “han robado decenas de placas que familiares de las personas que descansan ahí han colocado durante décadas”.

Otras personas con familiares sepultados allí informaron que se llevaron “mármoles enteros”.

“Es un predio de unos 80 mil metros cuadrados, así que estamos evaluando todavía los daños que se han hecho”. Luego, afirmó que que “estos daños seguramente se fueron haciendo en todo este período de cuarentena.  Todos estábamos en nuestros domicilios y no pudimos ir al cementerio”.

Dobkin contó que en el lugar “hay seguridad circunstancial, no permanente. Buscaremos la forma de que esto no vuelva a pasar”.

“Que se metan con algo tan sagrado como los muertos, la verdad que es repudiable”, finalizó.
