Martes 9 de febrero, marco en el teléfono y del otro lado una voz un poco desconfiada me pregunta si es verdad todo lo que le cuento. “¿Me estás diciendo que me acompañan para que pueda irme a vivir a otro país y tener todos esos beneficios? ¿Que ustedes me van a ayudar? ¡Si no nos conocemos!”
Es difícil explicar que de alguna manera si nos conocemos, que somos parte, que esta historia comenzó a escribirse hace miles de años y nosotros simplemente somos un eslabón más.
Jueves 20 de mayo 2021, a las 18.30hs. Se prenden 20 computadoras y una voz dice “shalom”. Es la primera clase de ulpan de Aliá Protegida. Algunos con el abecedario sabido, otros intentando descifrar por que escriben de izquierda a derecha… Pero todos con una gran sonrisa: una decisión propia, tomada a consciencia, con manos que sostienen y un futuro que ya no es “el que toco”. Hoy es un futuro “que elijo”.
Siete meses después, sentados en una gran ronda, nos vemos a la cara. Las distancias se acortan. Tucumán, Rosario, Mendoza, La Plata ya no son lejanos, estamos compartiendo un seminario, jugamos en hebreo y todos se ríen cuando escuchan “אני לא מדבר עברית”. Ya no es extraño, todos comparten un nuevo idioma. Que no es solamente hebreo, es el idioma compartido de las expectativas, de las alegrías, de los miedos. Es emocionarse en la ronda y decir que “los conozco hace unos meses pero los siento mi familia. Me da tranquilidad saber que nos vamos juntos”.
Aliá Protegida es recibir un mensaje “¿podemos hablar?”, y conversar 40 minutos, acompañar la angustia y dar ánimos para que del otro lado de la línea logre a contarle a su familia sus planes de empezar una nueva vida en Israel.

Es escuchar “nunca soñé que podía vivir esto”, “esto es acompañamiento para la vida, no para la aliá” y sentir la emoción que desborda.
Aliá Protegida es hacer zoom un domingo a las 11hs porque acá es finde pero “allá es día laboral”, es entender las diferencias culturales mientras Yael nos dice desde Yerushalaim “estamos acá para ustedes, no tengan miedo”.
Es escuchar “nunca me sentí tan acompañada” y por dentro luchar contra la indignación, la tristeza. Nadie debe estar ni sentirse solo.
Aliá Protegida es que te toquen el timbre cuando la pandemia azotaba, recibir un cuaderno, materiales y saber que la pandemia no frena ni sueños de derechos que deben ser cumplidos. Sentir que te cuidan, que te piensan, que te acompañan.
Es resarcir derechos, es sacar piedras del camino para los que tuvieron esquivar pozos y rocas para avanzar. Es no resignarse, es levantar la mano y caminar juntos.
