A los 95 años de edad murió el rabino Yitzhak Tuvia Weiss que era el jefe de la Corte Rabínica haredi de Jerusalén (Israel).
Weiss había estado internado en grave estado durante varios días en el Hospital Hadassah Ein Kerem.

Según recordó Israel National News, el rabino tomó la función de Ga’avad durante 19 años y llegó desde Bélgica a Jerusalén para asumir el cargo que ocupó hasta su fallecimiento.
Yitzhak nació en la antigua Checosclovaquia y escapó del holocausto en el transporte de niños (Kindertransport), que fue una decisión de Gran Bretaña para dar refugio a diez mil niños judíos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Tras llegar a Londres, donde estuvo por ocho años, se convirtió en el rabino de una sinagoga local llamada Etz Chaim.
El rabino Yitzhak Tuvia Weiss, durante 37 años, vivió en Amberes (Bélgica), donde pasó a ser juez rabínico (dayan) para luego llegar a Jerusalén, allí reemplazó al rabino Yisrael Moshe Dushinsky ztz»l.
