Israel: Según Estados Unidos, aumentó el terrorismo

El flamante reporte norteamericano sobre terrorismo critica duramente a Israel por su mediocre respuesta ante los ataques de los colonos extremistas contra la población palestina y sus bienes.

«Los ataques de los colonos extremistas israelíes contra los habitantes palestinos, sus propiedades y sus santuarios de culto, en Cisjordania continúan y en gran medida siguen sin ser llevados a juicio, según fuentes de la ONU y de Organizaciones No Gubernamentales (ONG)», señala el Informe Anual Internacional sobre el Terrorismo del Departamento de Estado.

La ministra de Justicia, Tzipi Livni, respondió al informe afirmando que «los crímenes de odio que se han extendido hacia Israel desde [el asentamiento de] Yitzhar nos están destruyendo desde adentro y desfiguran nuestra imagen en el exterior».

Livni añadió que el reporte, «revela lo que ya sabíamos: estos crímenes, conocidos como «precio político» (tag mejir), infligen un daño masivo a Israel… como nación debemos llevar a estos criminales ante la justicia».

El informe precisa que se han producido cientos de ataques de esta naturaleza.

«La Oficina del Coordinador de Asuntos Humanitarios de la ONU reportó 399 ataques de colonos extremistas israelíes, que resultaron en lesiones a palestinos o daños a su propiedad.

Los extremistas violentos, incluyendo a colonos israelíes, destrozaron cinco mezquitas y tres iglesias en Jerusalén y Cisjordania, según datos compilados por las Naciones Unidas».

El documento pone de relieve que el fenómeno se ha extendido a Israel, donde fueron atacados lugares de culto tanto musulmanes como cristianos.

«Los ataques de ‘precio político’ o ‘tag mejir’ (crímenes a la propiedad y actos violentos por parte de individuos y grupos de extremistas judíos en represalia por actividades que consideran que van en contra de los asentamientos) se expandieron desde Cisjordania a Israel en 2013», dice el informe, que reconoce que las autoridades israelíes han respondido a estos ataques.

«El gobierno de Israel estableció una nueva unidad de la policía nacional designada específicamente para investigar estos crímenes tanto en Israel como en Cisjordania y, en junio, el Gabinete Ministerial de Seguridad autorizó al Ministerio de Defensa clasificar a los grupos que perpetraron los ataques ‘precio político’ o ‘tag mejir’ como ‘asociaciones ilícitas’, lo que permite a las autoridades de seguridad mayor libertad de acción para la recolección de información e incautación de los bienes de los individuos y grupos que perpetraron esas agresiones».
