Revelan indignantes libros antisemitas para niños en escuelas de Irlanda

Líderes comunitarios de Irlanda revelaron que los alumnos judíos están cambiando de escuela por la enseñanza a través de libros antisemitas.

Según un informe, los libros de texto escolares de Irlanda están plagados de tropos antisemitas clásicos y prejuicios contra Israel.

Entre los ejemplos descubiertos por el Instituto para el Monitoreo de la Paz y la Tolerancia Cultural en la Educación Escolar (Impact-se), un organismo de control de la educación, un libro de texto retrata al judaísmo como inherentemente violento en comparación con otras religiones y otro caracteriza como judíos religiosos a personas que “no les gusta Jesús”.

Otro libro citado en el informe ilustra «la parábola del Buen Samaritano» con una imagen de un niño que lleva un pañuelo palestino protestando contra Israel; en otros lugares se presenta a Israel como el “único agresor” en el conflicto con los palestinos.

El Gran Rabino de Irlanda dijo al JC que algunos alumnos actualmente sienten “miedo porque son judíos”.

Por su parte, el Consejo Representativo Judío de Irlanda (JRCI) apoyó esa observación, y dijo que los jóvenes judíos se sienten asediados en el aula y que muchos de ellos cambiaron de escuela por antisemitismo.

El presidente del JRCI, Maurice Cohen, contó que se le negó repetidamente la oportunidad de plantear sus preocupaciones a la ministra de Educación irlandesa, Norma Foley, cuyo departamento le dijo al JC: «No hay evidencia de que se enseñe antisemitismo en las escuelas irlandesas».

 

Cohen afirmó: “Hubo un marcado aumento de incidentes [de antisemitismo en las escuelas]. Comentarios profundamente hirientes que van desde la negación del Holocausto hasta comentarios sobre la guerra entre Israel y Hamás en Gaza. El fracaso total del gobierno y de la ministra a la hora de abordar tanto el aumento del antisemitismo en Irlanda como la presencia de contenido inapropiado e inexacto en los libros de texto escolares es nada menos que escandaloso y chocante”.

El gobierno irlandés desestimó el informe de Impact-se, que descubrió un catálogo de prejuicios contra los judíos e Israel en numerosos libros para alumnos de entre 12 y 16 años.

En Call to Action, un libro de texto de educación cívica de Gill Education, que cuenta con una foto de la activista climática antisemita Greta Thunberg en su portada, se recomienda a los lectores una actividad llamada “La disminución de Palestina”, que presenta mapas controvertidos que demuestran la pérdida de tierras palestinas.

Otras actividad del libro invita a los estudiantes a empatizar exclusivamente con los palestinos. También compara imágenes de Israel y Palestina e incluye un estudio de caso sobre una familia palestina que recibe ataques de colonos israelíes.

En una tarea, se pide a los estudiantes que imaginen un posible futuro para los niños palestinos, en el que se “unirán a grupos militantes” o “conseguirán buenos empleos”.

Otro libro, Inspire – Wisdom of the World, de Educate.ie, afirma que Jesús nació en un país llamado “Palestina”.

“Hoy en día esta zona, entre el río Jordán y el mar Mediterráneo, se la conoce también como Tierra Santa”, afirma el libro. Vincula a Jesús a la causa palestina e ignora la existencia de Israel.

Impact-se manifestó: “Las referencias históricas a Jesús viviendo en ‘Palestina’ sin el contexto apropiado pueden contribuir a narrativas que desafíen la legitimidad de Israel y socaven la conexión histórica judía con la tierra”.

En otro libro, se retrata a los judíos como los asesinos de Jesús. En una edición de 2019 de Grow in Love de Veritas se representa a judíos ortodoxos como personas a las que “no les gusta Jesús”. Veritas actualizó el libro de texto en 2024 y eliminó la imagen del talit y el antiguo tropo antisemita implícito del deicidio judío.

“El judaísmo cree que la violencia y la guerra son a veces necesarias para promover la justicia”, afirma el libro Inspire – Wisdom of the World. Sin embargo, el Islam se describe como “favorable a la paz y contrario a la violencia”. Además, se afirma que el objetivo del cristianismo es “promover un mundo en el que todos disfruten de la paz y la justicia”.

En el mismo libro se presentan ejemplos de cristianos, musulmanes y ateos que apoyan a personas sin hogar. Pero no se ofrece ningún ejemplo de esfuerzos caritativos judíos.

Según Impact-se, en varios de los libros se hace hincapié en que “se cuestiona la legitimidad del Estado de Israel y se socavan las reivindicaciones judías sobre la tierra. Además, los debates sobre el conflicto israelí-palestino a menudo carecen del contexto histórico y político necesario, y presentan una visión unilateral que enmarca a Israel como el único agresor”.
