La primera edición del curso, organizado por la Universidad Bar-Ilan, de Israel, y la Universidad Babeș-Bolyai, de Rumania, se desarrollará entre el 9 y el 16 de este mes de febrero y reunirá a estudiantes, académicos y entusiastas del idish de todo el mundo.
«Sabíamos que existía el público» para estudiar este idioma de los judíos europeos, «pero no previmos su magnitud», reconoció el profesor Ber Kotlerman, de la cátedra de Cultura Idish y Jasidismo en el Departamento de Literatura del Pueblo Judío de la Bar-Ilan.

El interés por el curso que se impartirá en Cluj, señalaron, superó con creces las expectativas de los organizadores y marca un «vibrante resurgimiento global» de la lengua y la cultura idish.
Una inmersión en idish
Se trata de una semana de inmersión lingüística y exploración cultural, impartida íntegramente en este lenguaje judeo-alemán. Está diseñado para participantes con suficiente fluidez para seguir las clases en idish y es gratuito.
El plan de estudios combina un riguroso estudio académico con una inmersión cultural práctica. Los participantes explorarán pueblos judíos históricos como Șimleu (Shamloy) y Satu Mare (Satmar), participarán en seminarios intensivos y experimentarán un entorno lingüístico dinámico donde todas las actividades, desde conferencias hasta visitas guiadas, se desarrollan en idish.
