Según el portal de internet, la agencia de inteligencia interna Shabak (Servicio de Seguridad General) ha frustrado no menos que 17 ataques suicidas en los últimos siete meses. Esto no incluye a los ataques suicidas que fueron desbaratados por las fuerzas de la Autoridad Palestina, que ha desmantelado varias células que planeaban atentados de ese tipo.
Cinco de los atentados suicidas desbaratados fueron planificados por el grupo terrorista islámico Hamás, cinco por otras organizaciones y las restantes siete fueron planeadas por personas no afiliadas a ninguna organización.
En total, el aparato de seguridad israelí logró impedir 11 atentados terroristas, incluyendo ataques con disparos de armas de fuego, la colocación de bombas, y secuestros, desde el mes enero pasado. De éstos, 62 fueron planeados por Hamás. Casi todos los ataques tenían como objetivos a civiles y soldados israelíes en Cisjordania (Judea y Samaria).
Ninguno de los ataques suicidas prevenido fue planeado para dentro de la Línea Verde, aparentemente no por cuestiones ideológicas sino por el riesgo y la complejidad que precisan.
