Ariel Cohen Sabban: «Nos incorporamos a una institución con debilidades graves en su economía»

El presidente de la Delegación de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas (DAIA), Ariel Cohen Sabban recibió a la CADENA JUDÍA DE INFORMACIÓN VIS A VIS , para dialogar acerca de qué evaluación hace luego de cuatro meses de gestión, cómo se encuentra la situación económica de la DAIA y que institución aspira a dejar en los próximos dos años.

Durante la entrevista remarcó el arduo trabajo que están haciendo los presidentes de las filiales del interior, y aseguró que en los próximos días se creará una filial de DAIA en Formosa. Por otro lado, la representación política de la comunidad judía en los meses de agosto, septiembre, octubre y noviembre invitará a grupos de médicos, funcionarios judiciales, intendentes y gobernadores al Estado de Israel.

– ¿Qué evaluación podes hacer de la gestión que vienen llevando adelante hace más de cien días?

– Fueron 100 días de mucha tensión, de trabajo, de esfuerzo y de presentación ante las nuevas autoridades nacionales. Fueron más de cuatro meses que reflejaron un cambio sustancial para la DAIA.

– ¿Por qué tensión?

– Nos incorporamos a una institución , que si bien tenía fortalezas muy importantes en lo que respecta a lo institucional, tenía debilidades muy graves en algunas cuestiones que tienen que ver con el financiamiento y la economía, y a otras cuestiones que está gestión tomo como bandera que son la seguridad comunitaria, el fortalecimiento del vínculo con los actores de la política nacional y tomar el tema de la causa AMIA. Este último es para la DAIA un tema muy relevante para tratar de lograr que las nuevas autoridades lleguen al fin que queremos: que los autores del atentado a la AMIA sean castigados por la Justicia Argentina. Por otra parte, encontramos la necesidad de revincular, más allá de lo que ya estaba, y continuar fortaleciendo los vínculos con el Estado de Israel. Nuestro horizonte es, fue y será el Estado Hebreo. Nosotros como argentinos estamos muy orgullosos que siga siendo así.

– En tu campaña planteaste un auto-abastecimiento de la DAIA en materia económica, ¿cómo está la institución en ese aspecto? Y ¿qué pudieron resolver en estos meses?

– Yo te diría que en cuatro meses de trabajo hemos logrado tener muchos avances en encontrar un financiamiento propio, en equilibrar las finanzas de la DAIA y en poder dar respuestas a las necesidades que la comunidad requiere. Siempre dije que la política y la economía son dos caras de una misma moneda, y como tal, una institución como la DAIA si no tiene solucionada la parte económica, seguramente no va a poder realizar política. Hoy me atrevo a decirte, que a más de cuatro meses de gestión, la institución ha equilibrado sus finanzas: se encuentra al día con los sueldos de los empleados y de los proveedores. La DAIA ha puesto en funcionamiento el mejoramiento de estructuras, que hace diez años, necesitaban aggiornarse a la actualidad.

Hemos logrado un financiamiento importante con ingresos desde medios, aportes y auspicios de empresas privadas. Me atrevería a decir algo que hace más de 20 años no ocurría en la DAIA, que es concientizar a un grupo importantísimo de más de 30 empresarios de la comunidad judía acerca de la relevancia de la misión institucional e incorporarlos a la vida activa de la DAIA.

– ¿Qué están haciendo para mejorar en materia de seguridad?
– Lo hemos puesto en los primeros lugares de nuestra agenda, pero para eso se necesitan recursos. Hoy estamos capacitados y le estamos brindando ayuda al área. Estamos viendo con mucha claridad lo que sucede en el mundo, en Europa y lo que pasa muy cerca de Argentina. La realidad es que el terrorismo se va actualizando y cambiando sus formas de actuar, por eso la seguridad comunitaria debe estar a la altura de estos cambios que se están produciendo. Por otro lado, hemos concientizado a los presidentes de la filiales del interior que este tema, también, sea parte de su agenda. Hace pocos días hemos tenido un encuentro con los responsables de seguridad nacional, que me atrevería a decir, que muy pocas veces el presidente de la DAIA, en gestiones anteriores, ha estado presente y compartido con jóvenes voluntarios sus problemáticas. Nuestra obligación es poder dotar de acciones que hace bastantes años la DAIA no podía dar respuesta. En la actualidad, estamos realizando capacitaciones y aglutinando a jóvenes que están dispuestos a dar su vida por la comunidad judía. Pero también nosotros, como dirigentes políticos, tenemos la responsabilidad no sólo de felicitarlos, si no de acompañar con hechos reales y concretos.

– Al finalizar tu gestión, ¿Qué DAIA visualizas dejar?
– El mayor legado que nosotros tenemos que dejar después de tres años de gestión es haber generado cambios organizativos, institucionales y estructurales. Hay que dejar una DAIA con una impronta muy importante en materia política, y que no dependa únicamente de los voluntarios, sino de los profesionales. Que los voluntarios digan hacía dónde quieren que vaya la institución. En lo estructural queremos una DAIA con respuestas para lo que la comunidad necesita. Con respecto a lo económico, espero que quienes asuman el cargo en la próxima gestión no tengan que empezar de cero, sino dejar ordenada una estructura presupuestaria mensual. Nosotros llegamos para generar cambios. Queremos que la institución se destaque en el legado de proyectos sustentables, proyectos de capacitación en materia de discriminación, xenofobia y antisemitismo en todo el país.

–  Santiago Kaplun , aceptó un puesto en ACUMAR dependiente del Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sustentable de la Nación, ¿cómo resolvió el ejecutivo de DAIA este conflicto?En su momento, como abogado ambientalista había litigado contra el Estado en el caso de la Cuenca Matanza Riachuelo ¿Es verdad que el vicepresidente 1º, Alberto Indij, le pidió la renuncia a Kaplun?

– En principio te diría que el Dr. Alberto Indij no le pidió la renuncia. En segundo lugar, el Dr. Santiago Kaplun, personalmente, ha manifestado su situación y el ejecutivo está elaborando toda esa cuestión. Por ahora, la DAIA sigue funcionando tal cual como ha sido electa.

– Teniendo en cuenta que el grupo que se está enfrentado en las elecciones de AMIA, que ha sido judicializada, logró llegar a un acuerdo para estar hoy en la DAIA ¿Puede repercutir en tu gestión ese conflicto?
– Yo creo que tenemos que ser lo suficientemente inteligentes para que esto no ocurra. Confío que se va a solucionar este tema y no judicialmente. Todas las partes de la comunidad tienen que hacer un esfuerzo para llegar a acuerdos sustanciales y que los problemas queden dentro de la comunidad y, no, por fuera de ella. Esperemos que esto suceda y que la dirigencia comunitaria tenga la inteligencia suficiente para poder darse cuenta que, por un lado, la solución no es judicializar y por el otro lado, se comprenda que lo mejor es tener un diálogo fluido permanente. Pero también ambas partes, que con acuerdos o desacuerdos, deben comprender realmente que debe esta fuera el hecho de judicializar las elecciones.

– ¿Qué evaluación haces de los encuentros de la DAIA con intendentes, funcionarios del gobierno nacional y provincial, y con representantes de Israel?

– Estamos marcando la presencia de la DAIA en todos los ámbitos políticos, ya sea nacionales, provinciales e internacionales. Para la institución es fundamental tener una vinculación directa con aquellos que tienen la responsabilidad política de dirigir nuestro país. La representación política de la comunidad judía debe permanentemente relacionarse con todo el arco político nacional. Por este motivo, el 4 de mayo vamos a tener un encuentro con más de 30 sindicalistas por el Día del Trabajador, que ya otras gestiones habían hecho esta actividad, pero como la consideramos de mucha importancia la volvemos a hacer. Con respecto a la visita a funcionarios del Estado de Israel, la República Argentina necesita afianzar vínculos con el gobierno israelí, por eso la DAIA, será un articulador permanente.

– ¿ El Rabino Sergio Bergman  tuvo injerencia en tu candidatura y en esta gestión?

– La realidad es que nuestra gestión representa a todo el arco político comunitario, y las agrupaciones del Rabino Sergio Bergman están presentes en nuestra gestión. Lo que todos sabemos es que a partir del día que asumimos todos dejamos de ser parte de una agrupación para integrar la DAIA. El único lugar de decisión es el séptimo piso de la DAIA, en Pasteur 633.

– Entonces, ¿Bergman no tuvo ninguna injerencia en tu candidatura?

– Yo estoy hablando de la gestión. En la candidatura hemos trabajado como una de las columnas que ha logrado que está gestión hoy sea gobierno. Así como hubo miembros de socio-deportivas, instituciones ortodoxas, educativas y filantrópicas. Fue una parte de lo que yo llamo, el armado electoral.

– Se viene el acto de Iom Hashoá, ¿Qué impronta le van a dar al acto? Y ¿qué cosas van a continuar realizando de otras gestiones?

– El acto de Iom Hashóa es uno de los más importantes para la comunidad judía y para la DAIA. Estamos esperando la presencia de más de 4.000 personas. Desde lo estructural, los profesionales de la DAIA lo saben organizar de una manera impecable, para nosotros es un orgullo que esté en manos de ellos. Desde lo político estamos logrando la participación de muchos políticos nacionales, y no solo de Capital Federal, como por ejemplo la gobernadora, María Eugenia Vidal. Están invitados los gobernadores, aunque algunos no estarán por tener compromisos ya pactados en esa fecha.

– ¿El presidente va a dar un discurso?

– En principio, el orador central será Mauricio Macri, salvo que por cuestiones de agenda se le complique asistir. En ese caso hablará alguien de la Casa Rosada. Pero hasta el momento, el presidente de la Nación será el orador central.

– Por último, ¿Qué opinión tenes de la decisión de la UNESCO de negar los lazos judíos con el Monte Templo y el Muro de los Lamentos que tuvo un voto afirmativo por parte de Argentina? ¿Pudieron dialogar con las autoridades nacionales al respecto?

– Nosotros destacamos mucho a la Canciller Susana Malcorra su compromiso con el tema del atentado a la AMIA. Pero con respecto a la UNESCO realmente nos sentimos muy mal por la resolución, nos sentimos muy decepcionados por el voto, en general. Por eso solicitamos una reunión con la canciller a los efectos que nosotros no queremos que sistemáticamente se vote a favor del Estado de Israel, pero lo que sí pretendemos es que no se vote, siempre, en contra. Lo que está sucediendo hace muchos años son votos en contra del Estado de Israel, y como judíos entendemos que podrán haber cosas para votar en contra, pero muchas otras para sufragar en forma positiva. Pedimos equidad y una decisión racional. Para nosotros, como judíos el Muro de los Lamentos y el Monte Templo son lugares sagrados y nos afecta que nuestro país, en esa resolución, se esté oponiendo a esos lugares santos que los judíos tuvieron hace miles de años. Quiero aclarar, que nosotros vamos a exponer nuestra opinión ante la canciller como judíos argentinos, y no como el Estado de Israel.
