Entre otras cosas, se decidió que las huellas dactilares de los menores de 16 años no serán almacenadas y hasta que se aprueben los reglamentos en la Knéset, la policía no puede utilizar la base de datos en absoluto.
La ley fue aprobada después de un acalorado debate en el comité preparatorio durante el cual la enmienda del proyecto de ley fue aprobada por una mayoría de seis contra cinco.
Durante el debate, muchos miembros de la Knéset, incluidos los de las facciones de la coalición, afirmaron que el debate no se había completado y expresaron su oposición a la ley en su forma actual.
