Los hermanos Alvaro y Boris Castellanos, dos cineastas y músicos canadienses, desarrollaron el concepto de ¨Film-Concierto’ como una forma de contar la compleja historia de rescate y valentía de su abuelo, el diplomático salvadoreño José Arturo Castellanos.
“El Rescate” no es solamente un documental sobre el Holocausto, sino la historia de descubrimiento por parte de sus nietos del hombre que, utilizando su cargo como Cónsul General en Ginebra, salvó a miles de familias judías otorgándoles certificados de nacionalidad salvadoreña.
Por esta acción, en 2010, el museo del Holocausto en Jerusalén Yad Vashem, nombró al Coronel Castellanos «Justo entre las Naciones”, al igual que otros héroes como Oskar Schindler y Raoul Wallenberg.
En esta oportunidad se presentará en el Centro Cultural de la Memoria Haroldo Conti de la Ex ESMA este drama histórico y conmovedor. Participarán del evento las hijas del Coronel Castellanos: Ruth, Yvonne, Blanca y Frieda, así como también autoridades y expertos entre los que se destacan Judy Cohen, del Museo del Holocausto de Estados Unidos, y el Dr. Mordecai Paldiel, ex presidente de Yad Vashem departamento de los Juntos entre las Naciones.
