Vladimir Putin heredó un departamento en Israel

Rusia está algo sorprendida. Ayer se conoció la noticia de que el presidente Vladimir Putin heredó un departamento en el centro de Tel Aviv, el mismo que el mandatario le había regalado años atrás a quien fue su profesora de alemán durante su adolescencia y que falleció en diciembre pasado.

La delegación rusa en Israel informó que tomó posesión de un departamento que hasta diciembre fue propiedad de Mina Yuditskaya Berliner, maestra de Putin entre 1967 y 1968 en San Petersburgo.

La historia entre alumno y maestra se remonta a los años de secundaria del actual mandatario, cuando se lo describía como un buen estudiante, que siempre aprendía bien el vocabulario y la gramática, de acuerdo con una nota publicada por el diario El Mundo.

Pasado ese tiempo, ambos perdieron contacto pero se reencontraron en 2005, cuando Berliner descubrió que su ex alumno, ya presidente de una de las naciones más poderosas del mundo, iba a visitar Israel, y se puso en contacto con los representantes diplomáticos, a los que dejó sus datos de contacto y dijo que le gustaría reencontrarse con él.

El encuentro se concretó durante la visita oficial de Putin a Israel, cuando la Embajada la invitó a los actos oficiales donde el mandatario ruso se hizo un tiempo para tomar un té en privado con su ex profesora.

A partir de ese momento, la maestra comenzó a recibir regalos por parte de la embajada, incluyendo un reloj y la biografía de Putin, hasta que una empleada del gobierno ruso se presentó en su puerta y la llevó a ver dos departamentos en el centro de Tel Aviv, ofreciéndole alojarse en alguno de ellos.

La docente se inclinó por el más humilde de los dos, con una sola habitación, en detrimento de uno más amplio y lujoso en la moderna calle Shenkin, de la capital israelí. «Le dije que tenía que estar cerca de la parada de autobús, del médico y del mercado», matizó Berliner en una entrevista brindada al medio hebreo en 2014, según lo publicado por Télam.

Cuando la profesora falleció en diciembre pasado, la Embajada rusa envió un representante para asistir a la ceremonia fúnebre y colaborar con los gastos. En su testamento, Berliner había dejado por escrito sus deseos de devolverle a Putin la modesta casa de la que había hecho su hogar.
