El primer ministro de Israel, Binyamin Netanyahu, ha anunciado este martes que, en el marco de una serie de medidas para detener el actual espiral de violencia, las autoridades multarán a los padres de los menores que “lanzan piedras” y demolerán las viviendas de los terroristas.
Netanyahu se ha reunido con su equipo de seguridad para analizar los incidentes de los últimos días. Al término del encuentro, ha expuesto una serie de iniciativas con las que quiere “incrementar la seguridad de los civiles israelíes” y «castigar a los terroristas». Los planes del Gobierno de Israel contemplan multar a los padres de “los niños que lanzan piedras” en manifestaciones e ilegalizar cualquier foco de violencia en Jerusalén.
Asimismo, ha planteado la “destrucción de las viviendas de los terroristas”, informa el periódico Yedioth Ahronoth.
Netanyahu ha defendido su compromiso contra el “terrorismo” y la “incitación” a la violencia y ha criticado la posición del presidente de la Autoridad Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, al que no considera un “aliado”.
“Ha demostrado ser un irresponsable. En lugar de calmar las tensiones, las incita”, ha criticado. “En lugar de decir la verdad, esparce mentiras como si estuviésemos intentando cambiar el estatus de lugares sagrados. En lugar de educar a su pueblo en la paz, le está enseñando el terror”, ha añadido Netanyahu. El primer ministro ha lamentado que la comunidad internacional no reproche a Abbas su actitud y, en este sentido, ha advertido de que “el terrorismo no tienen fronteras”.
