– ¿Cómo vivió esta jornada de trabajo del CJL?
– Vengo acompañando a los cuatro parlamentarios de mi país. He venido un par de veces en los homenajes que se hacen por el recuerdo del atentado a la AMIA, y está es la primera vez que vengo con el tema del ataque a la Embajada de Israel. Siempre me parece muy valioso y me encanta ver como los parlamentarios de Uruguay también pueden intercambiar opiniones. Todos los países de Sudamérica vivimos problemáticas similares. Lo que precisamos nosotros los judíos es encontrar personas que están en posiciones importantes, como pueden ser los parlamentarios, y a los cuáles nosotros le tenemos que dar la mayor información posible de lo que sucede para que no tengan la cancha flechada. Para mí como uruguayo es un orgullo que mi país participe de estas reuniones con representación de todos los partidos.
– ¿Qué sensaciones le trae estar conmemorando un nuevo atentado a la embajada israelí y todavía sin justicia?
– Es una vergüenza. Como comentaban hoy se sabe lo mismo que hace 23 años, algo similar pasa con la AMIA, es realmente algo que debería dolerle mucho, en primer lugar a la Argentina. Yo a veces pienso que hay personas en la Argentina que cree que lo que pasó en la mutual judía y a la embajada no le paso a su país sino que le sucedió a los judíos y a Israel, y no es así. Capaz que algún día lo van a entender. A lo largo de todo este tiempo hubo personas, aquí en Argentina y en algún otro lugar, que contribuyó a que nada se supiese. Nosotros vamos a exigir verdad, justicia y que se encuentren a los culpables.
– ¿Cómo está la comunidad judía uruguaya luego de las amenazas de bomba a la embajada?
– Hubo dos amenazas de bomba a la Embajada de Israel en Uruguay, una a fin del año pasado y otra a principio de este año. Justo a la embajada se estaba mudando por eso hubo dos amenazas, alguna trascendió más que otra, pero la primera que trascendió menos fue la que generó lo que luego pasó que es que el gobierno uruguayo tomara conciencia de la infiltración iraní. Por este motivo un funcionaro importante de la Embajada de Irán fue expulsado de Uruguay. Todos sabemos en el microclima uruguayo que el Gobierno de nuestro país le exigió a Irán que ese funcionario no estuviese más, y eso nos da una primer señal de que no estamos solos. Por primera vez vemos que se esta atendiendo está problemática, otras se han atendido siempre. Pero la problemática de Irán y el terrorismo islámico a veces no era muy bien entendido.
