Bilbao y el nuevo antisemitismo. Por Isaac Nahón Serfaty

En los años 50 y 60 del siglo XX los judíos del norte de Marruecos, sefardíes hispanohablantes, usaban la palabra clave “Bilbao” para referirse al Estado de Israel. En las cartas que enviaban a sus familiares informaban que algún conocido se había ido a “Bilbao”, para decirles que había emigrado al Estado judío. En la Guerra de los Seis Días en 1967 comentaban el conflicto refiriéndose a la “situación en Bilbao”.

El uso del código “Bilbao” respondía a la preocupación de mencionar abiertamente la palabra “Israel” en un contexto hostil a la “Entidad sionista” (uno de los términos preferidos de la propaganda anti-israelí), como lo era el Marruecos que se identificaba con la causa árabe del momento. La prudencia judía, resultado de siglos de antisemitismo que los sefardíes conocieron en múltiples ocasiones en carne propia desde que fueron expulsados de España en 1492, obligaba a ser discretos con respecto al país de los hebreos.

El antisemitismo adopta hoy nuevos rostros. Después del Holocausto se hace cuesta arriba manifestar abiertamente el odio a los judíos, particularmente en Europa, escenario de la barbarie nazi y de otros horrores contra el pueblo hebreo. La palabra código en estos días para canalizar el antisemitismo es “sionismo” o “sionista”, el “Bilbao” de los progres antijudíos para descalificar a personas e instituciones identificadas con el Estado de Israel.

Ha pasado recientemente con la decisión de los organizadores de un festival de música de vetar al cantante estadounidense judío Matisyahu por “sionista” y por “’la indisponibilidad’ del artista a la hora de pronunciarse sobre el derecho del pueblo palestino” (El País, 15 de agosto, 2015). No sorprende, sin embargo, que este incidente haya ocurrido en España, país en el que el antisemitismo prevalece, como lo han mostrado varios estudios de opinión. Fue en el marco del festival de música reggae Rototom Sunsplash, cuyos organizadores anularon el concierto del cantante hebreo debido a la presión ejercida por BDS País Valencià (Boicot, Desinversiones y Sanciones), asociación que hizo una campaña contra Matisyahu acusándolo de “sionista” y de «justificar un Estado -Israel- que practica el apartheid y la limpieza étnica».

Los nuevos antisemitas y sus cómplices usan métodos que tienen resonancias con los viejos. Ellos también tienen sus códigos para exigir sus pruebas de “limpieza de sangre” como lo hacían los tribunales de la Santa Inquisición. Filipo Giunta, director del Rototom, cual Torquemada de la causa “antisionista” (seguimos en código “Bilbao”) instó a Matisyahu a hacer una «’declaración firmada o vídeo’» donde expresara de forma «’muy clara’ si los palestinos tienen derecho a un Estado y si está a favor de la paz entre este pueblo y el israelí” (El País, 15 de agosto, 2015). Giunta decidió cancelar la actuación del cantante ante la falta de respuesta de éste a su solicitud de declaración de “limpieza ideológica”.

Todo vuelve, pero con nuevos códigos lingüísticos y nuevas formas encubiertas en llamados a la “paz” y a la “convivencia”. En los tiempos de las antiguas hogueras y los sambenitos, a los condenados se les exigía abjurar públicamente de sus “prácticas judaizantes” (¿simpatías sionistas?) para salvar sus almas mientras el fuego consumía sus cuerpos.
