Hezbollah comenzó a atentar contra los bancos del Líbano que le cierran sus cuentas

La agencia de noticias iraní Fars advirtió que Hezbollah prepara una «respuesta inesperada» contra los bancos libaneses que sigan cumpliendo y aplicando las sanciones de Estados Unidos contra el partido y oficiales de su cúpula dentro o fuera del Líbano.

El informe, titulado «La agresión financiera contra Hezbollah por parte del ejército de bancos de Lahad», en referencia a la fuerza del sur del Líbano aliada, en su tiempo, de Israel y comandada por el militar con ese nombre, fue publicado horas antes de que unabomba explotara y destruyera completamente la fachada de un banco en el centro de Beirut el día martes.

«A raíz de la ley de sanciones de Estados Unidos contra Hezbollah, la confrontación política se tornó en financiera y se trasladó a los bancos del Líbano. El enfrentamiento entre Hezbollah y los bancos se ha convertido en inevitable», señaló la agencia Fars, que critica duramente a las instituciones financieras libanesas, tras el reciente cierre de aproximadamente 100 cuentas vinculadas a Hezbollah.

La agencia noticiosa que responde a la Guardia Revolucionaria de Irán sostiene que «el director del Banco Central, Riad Salameh, se encuentra al servicio de los Estados Unidos y es quien pretende hacer cumplir las sanciones contra el partido de Dios». Señala además que Salameh trata de hundir a Hezbollah y llevarlo a una confrontación directa y abierta con el resto de las fuerzas políticas que responden a la coalición sunita-cristiana encabeza por Saad Hariri, hijo del ex primer ministro Rafik Hariri, asesinado en 2005, por lo cual varios oficiales de Hezbollah están procesados y prófugos de la Justicia libanesa y del Tribunal Internacional para El Líbano (TEL), que lleva la investigación del magnicidio.

Según Fars, «Hezbollah considera que el congelamiento de sus cuentas es una confrontación no sólo al propio partido, sino contra la estabilidad de la comunidad chiita en el Líbano y ello abrirá una reacción inesperada y muy firme contra Salameh y cualquier banco que adhiera al bloqueo de los activos del partido». El informe advirtió de que Hezbollah podría tomar una serie de medidas, incluyendo el boicot a los bancos, y cerrar sus sucursales en las zonas del país donde el partido se basa en el apoyo popular, es decir, los suburbios del sur de Beirut, el valle de la Bekaa y el sur de Líbano.

El canal de televisión Al-Manar comunicó ayer por la mañana que, en principio, Hezbollah tomaría medidas «legales» contra los bancos y «el director del Banco Central, en particular». Advirtió, además, que el partido también está listo para emprender un«nuevo 7 de mayo», en referencia a la toma militar de la ciudad de Beirut liderada por Hezbollah, como sucedió en 2008, tras la decisión del Gabinete de desmantelar la red de telecomunicaciones del aeropuerto manejada por Hezbollah, que terminó con más de 80 muertos.

«Algunas personas están completamente equivocadas si piensan que Hezbollah está ocupada en Siria, el partido dará la respuesta que crea necesaria en el momento oportuno»,publicó Fars News. Añadió «que las decisiones del partido durante los acontecimientos de mayo de 2008, tuvieron por objetivo la protección propia y de su comunidad».

La crisis actual requiere prudencia y la urgente acción de los bancos de liberar los activos de la Resistencia, declaró un oficial allegado al líder de la organización política-terrorista liderada por Hassan Nasrallah. «No queremos otro 7 de mayo, pero si tiene que suceder, no dudaremos en hacerlo por el bien de la Resistencia».

Fars News también advirtió sobre «un amplio enfrentamiento político que generará un posible colapso mas allá del sector bancario y que colocará a muchos de los cómplices de los EEUU en la mira de las armas de la Resistencia en Líbano, incluyendo los sunitas y los cristianos que apoyan a Washington, quienes correrán la misma suerte que los cómplices de los israelíes».

El informe de la agencia iraní se publicó 12 horas antes de que una primera explosión en Beirut destrozara durante la noche del pasado martes la fachada completa del Blomm Bank en Verdun. El ministro del Interior, Nohad Machnouk, dijo que la explosión «claramente» estaba dirigida a los bancos con un mensaje mafioso.

El miércoles, el director del Banco Central, Riad Salameh, dijo aCNBC que 100 cuentas bancarias vinculadas a Hezbollah fueron cerradas en el país, lo que provocó una réplica airada del bloque parlamentario de Hezbollah ese mismo día, que declaró en un comunicado amenazante que «la política monetaria ha perdido su soberanía y que ello no será permitido por la Resistencia».

La ley de los Estados Unidos aprobada el 18 de diciembre de 2015 estableció sanciones estrictas contra Hezbollah y cualquier individuo u organización afiliada a la organización en cualquier institución financiera del mundo que «a sabiendas, facilite una transacción» con Hezbollah o sus oficiales de forma individual. En consonancia, el Banco Central del Líbano emitió la Circular N°137 del 3 de mayo en la que pide a los bancos libaneses que cumplan con la restricción emitida por Estados Unidos; la cual ya está en vigencia en los bancos.
