El gobierno sirio machaca impune y con la ayuda de Rusia no a Daesh ni a otros grupos yihadistas, sino a quienes se levantaron para cambiar el régimen dictatorial de los Al Assad, alentados por los optimistas discursos del saliente presidente estadounidense al inicio de su primer mandato, lo que (con la perspectiva actual) se ha convertido de primavera en infierno árabe. Por dicho espíritu le otorgaron el Nobel de la Paz, premio que pocos años después recayó en la agencia internacional que “verificó” el desarme de armas químicas en ese país. Hace tan sólo unos días un convoy de dicho armamento destinado a la organización terrorista Hezbolá fue bombardeado, presumiblemente por Israel.
El espectáculo dantesco que viviremos coincidiendo con el espíritu navideño y las luces de Janucá es en gran medida producto de la filosofía del pensamiento positivo automático que invita a visualizar fantasías y desatender la realidad y los compromisos. Los “nunca más” han pasado a formar parte del “wishful thinking”, el pensamiento ilusorio basado no en las evidencias sino en lo más placentero de imaginar; esa maquinaria de camuflaje de lo racional que algunos llaman “posverdad”. “Nunca” nunca es cierto, y “más” ahora. Por supuesto que la culpa de la masacre de Alepo es de sus perpetradores, y que el mirar para otro lado no se inventó hace dos días. Pero ahora es cuando empiezan (sólo es el comienzo, me temo) a aflorar las primeras consecuencias de la ausencia colectiva, cuando los que reciben la bofetada de la realidad en sus carnes reaccionan también emotivamente, saltándose olímpicamente la razón y volcándose, como hace justo un siglo, en las manos de los que más les prometen, aunque sepan de sus mentiras.
Seguramente no tardaremos en ver en los cines una esperanzadora historia de amor o de humor ambientada entre las cenizas de la desgracia siria, que contará con la bendición de los grandes representantes religiosos y la industria del ocio, con la que lavar nuestras conciencias y seguir sintiéndonos positivos, políticamente correctos, estéticamente vitales y razonablemente estúpidos. Para seguir educando a las generaciones venideras en no ofender a quienes vengan a someternos porque ello ensuciaría la inmaculada imagen que hemos interpuesto ante el espejo, para tapar el horror que campa a nuestro alrededor.
