El argentino-israelí, Yair Dori, que hizo Aliá hace 50 años y triunfó en la industria audiovisual de Israel por ser el importador de telenovelas populares y del fútbol, le contó su experiencia de vida a un grupo de jóvenes que estuvieron en la sede de Hillel para una actividad organizada junto al Keren Kayemet LeIsrael Argentina.
Dori, quién escribió el libro de «Infiernos y Paraísos», le expresó a los jóvenes que llenaron en el salón de la casa de Hillel su historia; hace 50 años, luego del fallecimiento de su padre y pese a las críticas de su familia, incluida su madre que se encontraba presente en la presentación, decidió emprender su viaje y levantar la bandera sionista, porque para él la «bandera del sionismo tiene una sola tendencia».
Pero cuando llegó a Israel con 21 años ya había comenzado la Guerra de los Seis Días, para lo que se conoce como la guerra del degaste: Yair decidió alistarse en el Ejército en el cuerpo de paracaidistas.
El 30 de mayo de 1970 en el Canal de Suez fue herido gravemente y por el efecto de la morfina cayó en el agua gravemente herido, pero «por un guiño del destino» fue encontrado por un militar egipcio que lo llevó al hospital y luego permaneció un año como prisionero en Egipto. Su liberación se produjo en 1971, el día que se festejaba Pesaj, y acotó con humor: «Tengo mi salida de Egipto».
A partir de ese entonces y cada día de su vida se lo plantea con una frase de cabecera, que aunque no la diga, sus actos hablan por ella: «Quiero vivir».
Luego estudió en la Universidad de Tel Aviv y comenzó a incursionar en el show bussines audiovisual, algo poco explorado en los años 90 en Israel. Es por eso que empezó a importar los partidos de fútbol más importantes de Argentina a las pantallas de los televisores de los israelíes, además de haber invitado a la Selección Argentina de 1994, con Diego Maradona a la cabeza, a jugar un partido amistoso en «su casa», como le gusta llamar a Israel.
En esa misma época también exportaba las telenovelas populares de Argentina, y eso provocó que muchas mujeres y hombres comenzaran a hablar fluidamente el castellano.
Durante su incursión en los medios audiovisuales creó una productora llamada Dori Media, que hoy es manejada por una de sus hijas, y ahora Yair se dedica «a disfrutar de la vida y venir a la Argentina a ver a su familia».
En el relato le aconsejó a los jóvenes: «La vida no es fácil para nadie. Tenemos que enfrentarla y ser auténticos». Por último, remarcó: «Yo siempre me permití hacer lo que quise hacer».
