Latinoamericanos participan de importante encuentro judeo-musulmán en Sarajevo

Jóvenes de las comunidades judía y musulmana de más de 30 países se congregaron del 6 al 13 de agosto en la capital de Bosnia y Herzegovina para participar de la edición 2017 de la Muslim-Jewish Conference (MJC). En el encuentro se discuten los flagelos de la islamofobia y el antisemitismo, y los participantes envían un mensaje de paz, tolerancia y supervivencia. Allí se encuentran cuatro jóvenes de la región, representando al Congreso Judío Latinoamericano.

«En cada sesión se generan debates enriquecedores en todo sentido. Lo más importante es que el foco del congreso no está puesto en como convencer a los demás sobre nuestra posición sino en escucharnos, poder entender a quien es diferente a uno y a partir de eso construir una nueva mirada que nos permita convivir mejor», comentó Ariel Berinstein, joven argentino que participa del encuentro.

«El contexto de la conferencia permite justamente eso: acercarse de una manera diferente, evitar intermediarios y escuchar los testimonios de primera mano. Dejamos de hablar de `judíos´ y `musulmanes´ y hablamos de cada persona en si misma para entender su realidad», afirmó Berinstein, quien participa del encuentro en representación del Congreso Judío Latinoamericano (CJL), junto con Víctor Estrugo Rottenstein de Argentina y Fabio Szperling y Fabio Milman de Brasil.

La conferencia cuenta con cinco grupos de trabajo en los cuales se abordarán distintas temáticas: «Poder, religión y Derechos Humanos», «Antisemitismo, Islamofobia y discursos de odio», «Más allá de las fronteras religiosas», «Género, religión, interseccionalidad y prejucicio» y «Proyectos».

La ceremonia de inauguración de la Conferencia tuvo lugar en la Alcaldía de Sarajevo y participó de la misma el Presidente de Bosnia y Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović.

Participan del encuentro 100 personas de más de 40 países: Pakistán, Azerbaiyán, Arabia Saudita, Alemania, Holanda, Israel, Estados Unidos, Brasil y Argentina, entre otros.
