El responsable del Gobierno alemán contra el antisemitismo, Felix Klein, ha pedido a los judíos del país que se abstengan de cubrir sus cabezas con la tradicional kipá en espacios públicos porque podrían ser objetivos de ataques.
«Me entristece decir que no puedo recomendar que los judíos lleven kipá en Alemania», según declaraciones realizadas este sábado a los diarios del grupo alemán de comunicación Funke.
El comisario ha estimado que nueve de cada diez ataques antisemitas en Alemania son perpetrados por individuos de extrema derecha, «muchos más que los que puedan perpetrar los musulmanes intoxicados por canales de televisión árabes que retransmiten una imagen terrible de Israel y los judíos».
El número de delitos de esta índole creció un 10% entre 2017 y 2018 – de 1.504 a 1.646 -, y los casos más extremos, con agresión de por medio, se dispararon de 37 a 62 en ese mismo periodo.
Al mismo tiempo Klein llamó a la formación de agentes de policía y otros funcionarios en el trato con el antisemitismo: «Hay mucha incertidumbre entre los agentes de policía y los empleados del gobierno en el trato con el antisemitismo. Muchos funcionarios no saben lo que está permitido y lo que no lo es. «Hubo una clara definición de antisemitismo, y se les debe enseñar en escuelas de policía. Igualmente, conviene para la formación de docentes y abogados», señaló.
En contra de la opinión de Klein se pronunció el titular de Interior de Baviera, Joachim Herrmann, quien sostiene precisamente que hay que «animar» al uso de la kipá porque lo contrario es «dejarse intimidar».
«Todo el mundo debe poder mostrar su kipá, no importa dónde ni cuándo», aseveró Herrmann, de la Unión Socialcristiana de Baviera (CSU) como Seehofer. Hace un año, y a raíz de una agresión sufrida en Berlín por un joven que iba con la kipá, decenas de miles de personas, judíos o no, acudieron a una concentración en la capital alemana cubiertos con esa prenda en señal de solidaridad y reclamando coraje cívico contra el antisemitismo.
