Confirmaron 36 años de prisión para el asesino de una estudiante israelí en Australia

Un tribunal de Melbourne condenó al australiano Codey Herrman a 36 años de prisión por la violación y el asesinato de la estudiante israelí Aya Maasarwe en enero.

Herrmann se declaró culpable a principios de este año del brutal crimen de Maasarwe, de 21 años, cuando volvía a su casa.

“Las mujeres deben ser libres de caminar solas por las calles sin temor a ser atacadas violentamente por un extraño”, dijo la jueza del Tribunal Supremo Elizabeth Hollingworth en su discurso de sentencia.

El abogado de Herrmann había afirmado ante el tribunal que su cliente merecía indulgencia ya que sufría de un trastorno de personalidad como resultado de un trauma infantil. “Siempre sonreía. Recuerdo su optimismo. Era muy sensible. Trato de volver a mi vida, de vivir una vida normal, pero no es fácil, porque en cada lugar que voy, en cada chica que veo, recuerdo a Aya”, concluyó su padre.
