Cerca de Tel Aviv, los responsables del hospital Sheba, considerado uno de los mejores del mundo, afirman que se debe al trabajo que efectúan conjuntamente profesionales árabes y judíos.
«Trabajamos juntos con el equipo médico árabe y no solamente en tiempos del coronavirus», afirma Rafi Walden, director adjunto emérito del establecimiento. «Sin ellos, el sistema de salud israelí se derrumbaría», asegura.

Los árabes israelíes representan un 20% de la población israelí.
En tiempos de coronavirus, se viralizó a todo el mundo una foto de dos enfermeros que oran ante su ambulancia: uno, judío, reza en dirección a Jerusalem; el otro, musulmán, está arrodillado en una alfombrilla de oración y lo hace hacia La Meca.
Varios internautas han saludado esta «inspiradora» imagen, divulgada por el Maguén David Adom.
¿Disparidades ante el virus?
Hasta ahora, el número de casos de COVID-19 es relativamente bajo en las zonas árabes. «Es porque ahí se hacen menos tests» estima el diputado árabe israelí Jaber Asakla, que reclama más medios para hacer frente a la crisis.
Otra explicación sería la difusión más rápida de la epidemia en las grandes ciudades, según el investigador Mohammad Darawshe, que destaca que «cerca del 70% de los ciudadanos árabes viven en pueblos y viviendas individuales»
«Al mismo tiempo, 70% de los ciudadanos judíos residen en ciudades y en inmuebles» agrega este miembro del instituto Givat Haviva.
Según Darawshe “los municipios árabes no están claramente preparados para hacer frente a una ola de coronavirus», advierte. Esos municipios «no tienen presupuestos para formar a su personal ante situaciones de emergencia», añade.
