La Autoridad Palestina (AP) y el partido más grande de la Organización para la Liberación Palestina (OLP), Fatah, celebraron el aniversario de las «muertes como mártires» de tres terroristas que participaron en la planificación, secuestro y asesinato de 11 atletas israelíes en los Juegos Olímpicos de Múnich 1972.
En una publicación de Facebook, el presidente de la AP, Mahmoud Abbas, honró a Mahmoud Yusuf al-Najjar, Kamal Nasser y Kamal Adwan, quienes fueran miembros de alto rango de la OLP y formaran parte del Septiembre Negro en la década de 1970.
Los tres terroristas fueron abatidos por el Mossad israelí en Beirut en abril de 1973 debido a su participación en la masacre de Múnich.
Tawfiq Tirawi, miembro del Comité Central de Fatah, también conmemoró a Najjar, Nasser y Adwan como «líderes» que «redimieron a Palestina con sus almas» y entendieron «el valor de la actividad de sacrificio personal».
Otros terroristas involucrados también han sido honrados por la AP y Fatah en los últimos meses, incluso en febrero, cuando los conmemoraron compartiendo un video que incluye una foto infame de un terrorista enmascarado en el balcón de los atletas israelíes, en la habitación en la Villa Olímpica de Múnich.
Del mismo modo, tanto la AP como Fatah celebraron el 41 aniversario de la muerte de Hassan Ali Salameh, comandante de operaciones de Septiembre Negro. El diario oficial de la AP dijo que «está conectado a muchas operaciones de calidad, como enviar paquetes explosivos desde Amsterdam a muchos agentes del Mossad en Europa», además de la Masacre de Múnich.
