Las tropas de las FDI frustraron un posible ataque terrorista el miércoles por la noche. Sucedió después de que un palestino armado se infiltrara en el sur de Israel desde la Franja de Gaza.

Los militares dijeron que el sospechoso fue identificado a medida que se acercaba a la valla perimetral. Luego de observar a su alrededor se infiltró en Israel cerca del kibutz Ein Hashlosha que está situado cerca de la ciudad de Khan Younis. Es en el norte de Gaza.

Las tropas que llegaron al lugar arrestaron al hombre cerca de la valla y encontraron un  artefacto explosivo y un cuchillo en las cercanías.

El artefacto explosivo fue inspeccionado por zapadores y el hombre fue llevado para un nuevo interrogatorio.

Los militares dijeron que no había peligro para los residentes del kibutz y otras comunidades cercanas.

El incidente se produjo varias horas después de que el gabinete de seguridad aprobara una nueva política que permitía a Israel retener los cadáveres de todos los atacantes palestinos, independientemente de que estuvieran o no afiliados a Hamas o a cualquier otro grupo terrorista.

Acogiendo con beneplácito la decisión, el Ministro de Defensa Benny Gantz dijo que fortalecería la política de disuasión de Israel.

“La negativa a devolver los cuerpos de los terroristas es parte de nuestro compromiso de mantener la seguridad de los ciudadanos israelíes. y, por supuesto, de llevar [los cuerpos de los soldados de las FDI muertos en combate y los desaparecidos en combate israelíes] a casa. Espero que nuestro enemigo entienda e interiorice bien el mensaje”, dijo.

La infiltración también se produjo poco después de que Israel y Hamas acordaran un alto el fuego tras casi tres semanas de intensificación de las tensiones. Desde la Franja se lanzaron cientos de globos incendiarios y explosivos. Israel reprimió con más de un centenar de ataques aéreos contra Hamás.

El acuerdo mediado por Qatar incluye la promesa de llevar a cabo varios proyectos de infraestructura en el enclave costero gobernado por Hamas. También el aumento de la subvención en efectivo de Qatar a miles de familias palestinas. Además de la reapertura de todos los cruces fronterizos con Israel y la ampliación de la zona de pesca.

Además, también se aumentaría el suministro de combustible a la central eléctrica de la Franja de Gaza para resolver la crisis de electricidad en esa zona. En otros informes se citaban fuentes cercanas a Hamas que afirmaban que los entendimientos también exigen que Israel facilite la entrada de suministros médicos y medicinas en la Franja de Gaza tras el aumento del número de casos de coronavirus.

Tras el acuerdo de alto el fuego, Khalil al-Hayya, el líder adjunto de Hamas en Gaza, advirtió que habría otra ronda de violencia si Israel no cumplía los términos del acuerdo al final de los dos meses siguientes.

“Nuestra demanda es que la ocupación siga todos los acuerdos previos sin postergar o retrasar”, dijo en una entrevista con la televisión de Hamas Al-Aqsa. “Le daremos dos meses a la ocupación y vigilaremos su comportamiento en la ejecución de proyectos y la incorporación de otros proyectos. Necesitan implementar los proyectos”.
