El Primer Ministro de Israel entró este lunes de nuevo en una cuarentena obligatoria domiciliaria. Es la tercera a la que se somete en el año a modo de precaución.
Se decidió el aislamiento debido a un reciente encuentro de Netanyahu con un portador del coronavirus confirmado. Lo dio a conocer la Oficina del Primer Ministro de Israel.
Según medios israelíes, el paciente confirmado se trata de Mijael Kleiner, Presidente del tribunal del partido Likud y exlegislador de la Knéset. Kleiner ayer dio positivo a una prueba de detección de coronavirus. Tanto Netanyahu como el Ministro de Finanzas, Yisrael Katz, se reunieron con Kleiner el pasado martes, de acuerdo con el Canal 12.
Tras lo sucedido, el mandatario se sometió a pruebas de detección de coronavirus el domingo y el resultado fue negativo.

Por medio de un mensaje publicado en su cuenta de Twitter, Netanyahu comunicó la noticia sobre su aislamiento y dijo sentirse en buen estado de salud.

“Acorde con las normas, entraré en cuarentena de aquí hasta el próximo viernes. Me siento excelente. Hoy y ayer pasé por dos pruebas de coronavirus negativas. Continuaré trabajando 24/7 para traer millones de vacunas a los ciudadanos de Israel y fortalecer nuestra economía. ¡Cuiden las normas y cuiden su salud!”, escribió.

También una secretaria de la dependencia dio positivo a coronavirus, aunque se descartó un contacto cercano de la paciente con Netanyahu. Por lo que por este caso no fue necesario que entrara en cuarentena.
En marzo pasado, Benjamín Netanyahu entró en la primera de las tres cuarentenas a las que ha sido sometido luego de que una de sus asesoras cercanas contrajera el virus.
Poco después, en abril, Netanyahu entró en una segunda cuarentena luego de que el entonces Ministro de Salud, Yaakov Litzman, diera positivo a coronavirus.
Ante la llegada de las primeras dosis de la vacuna contra COVID-19 de Pfizer-BioNTech a Israel, Netanyahu ha prometido ser el primero en recibirla en el país con el fin de alentar a la población a no vacilar y vacunarse sin demora.
