Wonder Woman tendrá una tercera película con la israelí Gal Gadot como protagonista

La saga de «Wonder Woman» tendrá una tercera cinta que contará de nuevo con la israelí Gal Gadot como protagonista y con Patty Jenkins de directora. Este anuncio lo comunicó hoy Warner Bros.
A su vez, el anuncio del estudio llegó solo dos días después de lanzamiento de «Wonder Woman 1984», secuela de «Wonder Woman» (2017) y que se ha estrenado de forma simultánea en los cines y en la plataforma HBO Max.

Warner Bros. aseguró hoy que, con este polémico estreno, «Wonder Woman 1984» ha recaudado 16,7 millones de dólares en Estados Unidos y Canadá. Y, también, 85 millones en total a escala global (69.5 millones de euros).
«Mientras los fans de todo el mundo continúan abrazando a Diana Prince, con el robusto desempeño de ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ en su fin de semana de estreno, estamos emocionados de poder continuar su historia con nuestras ‘mujeres maravilla’ reales, Gal y Patty, que regresarán para concluir una trilogía de cine largamente planeada», aseguró hoy Toby Emmerich, que es el presidente de Warner Bros. Pictures Group.
La secuela sustituye la Guerra Mundial de «Wonder Woman» por unos años 80 de consumismo e individualismo. Allí, Diana Prince (Gadot) lleva una vida relativamente discreta.
Mientras que, su panorama cambia de arriba abajo cuando se cruzan en su camino un villano muy «reaganiano» (Pedro Pascal), una amiga atravesada por la envidia (Kristen Wiig), y algunos recuerdos dolorosos del pasado.
Gran parte de la conversación en torno a «Wonder Woman 1984» ha girado en torno al polémico estreno híbrido de la cinta y sobre las consecuencias que ha tenido el coronavirus en los cines.
Tanto Gadot como Jenkins defendieron la decisión que tomó Warner Bros. para presentar esta cinta tras acumular tres retrasos.
«¿Sabes? No fue una decisión fácil», admitió Gadot.
«Pero también sentimos que no teníamos una alternativa mejor. Y es interesante porque rodamos la película en 2018. Y, obviamente, no podríamos haber anticipado 2020, pero ahora la película se siente más relevante que nunca», contó.
«Así que cuando pusieron sobre la mesa la opción de estrenar la película, tanto en los cines como en HBO Max en Estados Unidos, eso se sintió en verdad un poco especial porque la película ha estado lista ya desde hace un año. Ha estado esperando por un año para ser vista. Y la idea de tener a las familias viendo la película el día de Navidad me llena el corazón», apuntó.
«Así que creo que, específicamente para nosotros, fue la decisión correcta. Ya estoy en un momento en el que realmente quiero que la gente vea nuestra película y vea lo que hemos hecho», cerró.
