Gilad Pereg, el hombre acusado de asesinar a su madre y a su tía, ambas israelíes, y enterrar sus cadáveres en un predio en la localidad mendocina de Guaymallén, respondió “en buenas condiciones” a su tratamiento psiquiátrico. Regresará a un penal en los primeros días de febrero. Al cumplirse dos años del hecho la Justicia está en condiciones de poner fecha de inicio del juicio por jurados.

La fiscal de Homicidios que tiene a su cargo la investigación por el doble crimen de las turistas israelíes Pyrhia Saroussy (63) y Lily Pereg (54) aseguró que, de acuerdo a los resultados de los peritajes, el acusado, Gilad Pereg (39), podrá regresar al penal San Felipe en pocos días y se podrá fijar la fecha del comienzo del juicio con jurado popular.

“En diciembre nos mandaron un oficio del instituto El Sauce y dijeron que él ya estaba con un buen tratamiento al cual había respondido. A la brevedad estaría en condiciones de volver al penal”, dijo a Télam la fiscal de Homicidios, Claudia Ríos. Pereg, quien mientras estaba en prisión decía ser un gato, maullaba cuando le hablaban y siempre se mostró agresivo para con los investigadores.

La funcionaria judicial dijo que posiblemente en febrero le “darán aviso si ya está en condiciones. Una vez que lo trasladen al penal y comprobar que puede entender todo lo que se le dice, se eleva a juicio la causa. Luego se fijarán las fechas para el juicio por jurado”.

El hombre llegará al debate acusado del delito de “homicidio agravado por el vínculo”, en relación a su madre Saroussy, y “homicidio simple agravado por el uso de arma de fuego”, por su tía Pereg, por lo que en caso de que el jurado lo encuentre culpable, la única pena posible es la de prisión perpetua.
