El primer ministro de Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, dijo este lunes que la vacunación de las 570 mil personas mayores de 50 años que aún no han ido a inocularse será clave para que el Estado judío sea el primero en salir del Coronavirus.
“Hago un llamado a todas esas 570 mil personas mayores de 50 años que aún no se han vacunado: ¡Vayan y vacúnense! No solo por su salud, sino por toda nuestra salud”, dijo Netanyahu en una entrevista concedida al Canal 12 israelí, recogió Enlace Judío.
“Nuestra victoria sobre la pandemia depende de ustedes”, dijo.
“Ahí es donde están las muertes, casi el 100 por ciento; ahí es donde están los enfermos graves, casi el 100 por ciento”, dijo. “Cuando van a los hospitales, los bloquean para otros, entonces los jóvenes empiezan a enfermarse y algunos mueren”, agregó.
Netanyahu llamó al siguiente paso en la reapertura económica de Israel como “una noticia maravillosa”. Dijo que el marco del “pasaporte verde” que se aprobó permitirá a los israelíes vacunados ir al cine, asistir a partidos deportivos y, finalmente, a restaurantes y vuelos al extranjero.
“Aquellos que no se vacunen no podrán hacerlo”, dijo. “Quiero ante todo proteger a los que están vacunados y alentar a los que no se han vacunado”.
“Seremos los primeros en el mundo en salir [del COVID-19]”, declaró Netanyahu.
“Si esas 570,000 personas mayores de 50 años se vacunan, no solo será el último confinamiento, sino que terminaremos con el COVID-19. Punto… Estamos liderando al mundo en [aplicación de] vacunas; seremos los primeros en salir del coronavirus”.

Más adelante en la entrevista, Netanyahu anunció que está negociando con las empresas farmacéuticas Pfizer y Moderna para obtener más decenas de millones de vacunas para los próximos años.
“Estoy [también] negociando con ellos para construir dos fábricas en Israel, y convertirnos en un centro mundial para la lucha contra el COVID-19“, agregó.
La instalación de Moderna sería un centro de llenado de viales de vacunas, indicó Netanyahu. La instalación de Pfizer estaría dedicada a la investigación y el desarrollo para la batalla contra futuros virus.
Los ministros del gabinete de gobierno de Israel aprobaron la reapertura de tiendas, gimnasios, hoteles y otros lugares a partir del domingo.

Según el plan aprobado por los ministros, las restricciones se revocarán el domingo 21 de febrero, en un aparente compromiso entre el deseo de los funcionarios de salud de esperar hasta el martes 23 de febrero y la demanda del partido KajolLavan, de Benny Gantz, de comenzar a reabrir esta semana.
