La famosa banda israelí Shalva cantó juntos a artista de Emiratos. El conjunto compuesto por músicos con discapacidades lideró la última colaboración entre artistas israelíes y emiratíes. La misma celebra el acuerdo de normalización de las naciones, firmado el año pasado.
El 31 aniversario de la Asociación de Israel para la Atención e Inclusión de Personas con Discapacidades, más conocida como Shalva, fue el tema central del evento de gala anual de los Amigos Americanos de Shalva, que se celebró recientemente de acuerdo a información de Enlace Judío.
La Shalva Band, acompañada por la Orquesta Sinfónica de Jerusalén, interpretó un dúo virtual único de “Bridge Over Troubled Water” de Simon y Garfunkel. El mismo fue con letras en hebreo y árabe, con el cantante Tareq Al Menhali de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos. La celebración se llevó a cabo bajo el tema “Construyendo puentes hacia el futuro”.
El orador invitado fue Yousef Al Otaiba, embajador de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos en EE. UU. “Es un honor participar en el evento del 31 aniversario de American Friends of Shalva”, dijo.

“Los Emiratos Árabes Unidos comparten el compromiso inquebrantable de Shalva de mejorar la vida de las personas con discapacidad. En los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, las personas con discapacidad intelectual o necesidades especiales se conocen como personas con determinación. Es en reconocimiento a sus logros en diferentes campos. La colaboración para crear la versión especial de ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water‘ demuestra cómo todos debemos continuar trabajando juntos. Esto es independientemente de la nacionalidad, religión o cultura. Sirve para promover un cambio social positivo y fomentar sociedades más inclusivas”, agregó Al Otaiba.
La Shalva Band incluye a ocho músicos con discapacidades y ganó gran parte de su fama cuando estaba en la contienda por posiblemente representar a Israel en el concurso de canciones de Eurovisión.
La banda se retiró del concurso debido a la preocupación de que sus miembros tuvieran que violar el sábado como parte del concurso.
Según Shalva, la organización ya ha comenzado a trabajar activamente junto con sus homólogos de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos con el objetivo de avanzar en el campo del cuidado de la discapacidad en toda la región.

Shalva dijo que “Bridge Over Troubled Water” fue elegido para ser el himno de su mensaje edificante. La combinación de hebreo, árabe e inglés tenía la intención de enviar un poderoso mensaje de unidad, paz y cooperación. Los versos en hebreo fueron cantados por la Shalva Band, y los versos en árabe fueron cantados por el cantante emiratí Al Menhali.
El fundador y presidente de Shalva, Kalman Samuels, habló sobre el evento. “Hemos elegido ‘Construyendo puentes hacia el futuro’ como el tema de nuestra celebración del 31 aniversario. Fue para reflejar la forma en que Shalva está inspirando una sociedad más inclusiva. Construye puentes entre las personas con discapacidades y su comunidad en general. Ccon un enfoque particular en nuestras relaciones recién desarrolladas en el mundo árabe como parte de los Acuerdos de Abraham», dijo.
El presidente global de Shalva, Avi Samuels, también se expresó. «Creemos que esta versión de portada especial ha sido preparada por primera vez en inglés, hebreo y árabe para representar la unión de nuestros respectivos países. Con el optimismo que compartimos con amor y comprensión y cooperación haremos del mundo un lugar mejor”, aseguró.
