Gilad Kariv hace historia como el primer rabino no-ortodoxo en la Knéset.

Gilad Kariv, de 47 años, se convirtió en el primer rabino no-ortodoxo en ingresar a la Knéset informó Aurora. Abogado y director ejecutivo del Movimiento por el Judaísmo Reformista y Progresista en Israel, Kariv ingresó como parte de la lista de Avodá.
El histórico partido de centro-izquierda se quedaría con 6 o 7 bancas según los primeros datos. Así, Kariv se garantizaría su escaño el congreso.
En 2016, este rabino oriundo de Tel Aviv fue uno de los que motorizó la decisión de aprobar un espacio igualitario de oración en el Kotel. Con estos antecedentes, el movimiento reformista se anota un hito en su historia.
El Instituto Rabínico Reformista en Argentina se refirió a este hito. «¡Felicitamos al Rab @KarivGilad, primer rabino reformista en ser electo para la Kneset», publicaron en su Twitter oficial.
También el rabino Diego Elman se expresó en redes sociales ante este logro. «Felicitaciones al querido @KarivGilad, primer rabino reformista elegido miembro del parlamento israelí. Merecido reconocimiento a un enorme trabajo. Mucho éxito en la Kneset! Mazal Tov!», escribió.
