“Hakala” es el nombre del nuevo proyecto de asistencia que AMIA puso en marcha desde su Departamento de Programas Sociales y del Vaad Hajinuj. Lo hace a partir del apoyo técnico y financiero del American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee y el acompañamiento de la Federación de Escuelas Judías Argentinas (FEJA); Para contener y reducir el fuerte impacto socio-económico que la emergencia sanitaria está generando en numerosas familias de la comunidad.

La iniciativa brindará ayuda directa a familias con niños y niñas que concurren a escuelas de la Red Escolar Judía. Son aquellas que, producto de la pandemia, vieron afectados sus ingresos.

Con este nuevo programa, que es de carácter transitorio, “se procura generar una línea de ayuda directa de apoyo a las familias a través de las escuelas. Además de brindar contención a hogares cuyas economías han sido severamente afectadas a causa de la pandemia”. Así lo señaló Fanny Kohon, directora del área de Programas Sociales.

“De esta forma, esperamos contribuir de manera directa a una mejora sustancial de la calidad de vida de las familias, a través de un subsidio económico mensual”, detalló.

Además, el programa “Hakala” de AMIA prevé un apoyo económico durante un período máximo de ocho meses que se ejecutará en dos etapas.

“En esta primera etapa, se encuentran participando 224 familias, de 17 escuelas. Para la segunda etapa, próxima a lanzarse, está prevista la inclusión de aproximadamente 200 familias más”. Lo indicó Paula Jait, coordinadora de Servicios Sociales. “A través de esta nueva iniciativa, que busca alcanzar y contener a familias afectadas por la situación, podemos brindar un aporte concreto. Va a contribuír a aliviar las necesidades prioritarias de las niñas y niños de nuestra comunidad”, concluyó.
