Principal unidad de inteligencia de las FDI nombra a su primera subcomandante mujer

La Dirección de Inteligencia Militar (MID) de las FDI nombró a una oficial mujer como jefa adjunta de su unidad superior, ascendiendo a la teniente coronel “G” al rango de coronel y nombrándola subcomandante de la Unidad 8200, el aparato de élite de inteligencia de señales y descifrado de códigos del MID.

G., que será la primera mujer oficial en ocupar el cargo, tiene una amplia experiencia en la unidad. Se desempeñó en diversas funciones en las divisiones de cibernética, inteligencia y operaciones de la dirección.

Se espera que la mujer (39), que asumirá como subcomandante próximamente, lidere la revolución de la inteligencia artificial de la MID, según informó la FDI.

“Tuve el privilegio de servir en la Unidad 8200, cuya misión es mantener la seguridad de Israel”, afirmó G. “Junto con los miembros de la Unidad 8200 y del MID, lideraré el tema de la inteligencia artificial y la superioridad de la información de manera que permita su rápida implementación a favor de saltos significativos en la efectividad operativa de las FDI, [en] exponer al enemigo y destruirlo. Agradezco a mis comandantes que confiaron en mí y en mis capacidades”, agregó.

G. se une a un número cada vez mayor de mujeres que rompen las convenciones militares de ocupar funciones antes dominadas únicamente por hombres.

A principios de esta semana, la general de brigada Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi fue nombrada la primera mujer defensora militar de las FDI, función que conlleva un ascenso al rango de general de división.

Tomer-Yerushalmi se convertirá así en la segunda mujer en la historia de las FDI en ostentar ese rango.
