Un residente de Kelowna, Canadá, denunció que pintaron una esvástica en su lugar de estacionamiento porque utiliza kipá.

Michael (no dice su apellido) llegó a su lugar de trabajo, la empresa Proactive Physiotherapy, el miércoles por la mañana.

Cuando regresó a su automóvil al final del día encontró una esvástica pintada con aerosol directamente al lado del coche, y cree que se debe al uso de la kipá.

“Alguien tiene que haberme visto en el trabajo usando mi kipá. Generalmente no la uso en público. No me siento tan seguro», comentó.

“Entré a las 9:30 y no estaba allí cuando estacioné. Pero a las 11, cuando llegó mi colega, me dijo que ya estaba allí, detrás de mi coche», comentó.

Michael es un médico osteópata nacido en Montreal, sus padres fueron ambos sobrevivientes del Holocausto y cree que podría ser uno de sus clientes.

“Eso sí, entonces, ¿por qué querrían seguir siendo tratados por mí? Sin embargo, en las proximidades del negocio, alguien debe haber sabido que fui yo en términos de ser abiertamente judío», expresó.

Además, contó que no es la primera vez que es un objetivo antisemita. Cuando era adolescente recibió varios ataques en la secundaria y decidió tomar lecciones de artes marciales.

“Espero que se encuentre a los perpetradores y que, en términos de ley y orden, esto se investigue y se resuelva, y no que sólo se eche a perder y se ignore”, finalizó.

Por su parte, el sargento Joel Glen, de la policía canadiense, comentó: “La esvástica fue colocada directamente detrás del vehículo de un hombre judío, que comprensiblemente estaba muy molesto cuando la vio. El racismo de cualquier tipo no tiene cabida en nuestra comunidad y no lo toleraremos. Estamos investigando exhaustivamente este incidente y hacemos un llamamiento a cualquiera que lo haya presenciado para que se presente».
