El Tribunal Supremo alemán confirmó la condena a cadena perpetua contra Beate Zschäpe, única superviviente del trío terrorista neonazi Clandestinidad Nacionalsocialista (NSU), quien asesinó a nueve inmigrantes y una policía entre 2000 y 2007.

Zschaepe permanecerá en prisión durante el resto de su vida debido a la gravedad de sus crímenes.

La Justicia alemana dijo en un comunicado que rechazó su apelación contra la condena por 10 cargos de asesinato, dictaminando que sus crímenes eran de tal gravedad que podía permanecer en prisión durante más tiempo que la pena perpetua estándar de 15 años.

Tras un macroproceso de cinco años y medio y más de 400 sesiones, la Audiencia Territorial de Múnich condenó en julio de 2018 a la neonazi a cadena perpetua, a pesar de que fueron cometidos por sus dos compañeros, Uwe Mundlos y Uwe Böhnhardt.

La mujer era una de las cabecillas de la NSU, que asesinó a ocho personas de origen turco y una de origen griego entre 2000 y 2007. Y también a una mujer policía.

Se encargaba de la logística y las finanzas del grupo, estableciendo casas seguras para los asesinos.

Los cabecillas, Boehnhardt y Mundlos, murieron antes de que los detuvieran, en lo que se cree que fue un asesinato-suicidio.

El tribunal, además, confirmó las condenas de otros dos cómplices, Ralf Wohlleben y Holge Gerlach. Se les impusieron penas más cortas por su participación en los asesinatos.
