Un Tribunal de Familia de Tel Aviv ordenó que Eitan Biran fuera enviado de regreso a Italia para vivir con su tía italiana, a la espera de otro posible fallo de los tribunales italianos.
Biran, de seis años, es el único superviviente de un accidente de teleférico en el norte de Italia en mayo. Su abuelo israelí lo trajo a Israel ilegalmente unos cuatro meses después.
El accidente causó la muerte de 14 personas, incluido el padre de Eitan, Amit Biran, su madre, Tal Peleg y su hermano de un año, Tom. También fallecieron en el accidente sus bisabuelos Barbara Cohen Konisky e Itshak Cohen.
El tribunal determinó que Biran tenía vínculos más profundos y se sentía más cómodo con su familia italiana y sus alrededores que con su familia israelí y sus alrededores.
Además, el tribunal dijo que el abuelo había violado el Convenio de La Haya al sacar a Biran de Italia sin un fallo judicial.
Técnicamente, el abuelo aún puede buscar la custodia a través de los tribunales italianos. De todas maneras sus posibilidades son escasas tras el fallo del tribunal israelí el lunes.
