B’nai B’rith Argentina: Acto de conmemoración por el 83° aniversario de «La Noche de los Cristales Rotos»

El próximo 9 de noviembre a las 19:30 hs se conmemora el 83ºAniversario del Pogrom de Noviembre de 1938 (Kristallnacht). Como desde hace décadas B’nai B’rith Argentina es co-organizador de este acto anual de la memoria universal, junto a la Confraternidad Argentino Judeo-Cristiana, la Comisión Arquidiocesana de Ecumenismo y Diálogo Interreligioso (Arquidiósesis de Buenos Aires), y el Museo del Holocausto de Buenos Aires.

El acto tendrá lugar en la Iglesia Evangélica Metodista de La Boca y podrá ser visto a través de Youtube/bnaieventos.

Invitamos a toda la comunidad a sumarse a este trascendental acto  que contará con mensajes de Embajadores de los principales países que estuvieron involucrados con el Pogrom, participación de sobrevivientes, reflexiones del Rabino Uriel Romano, la Pastora Mariel Pons y un espacio musical, entre otros.

Sobre la Noche de los Cristales Rotos (Kristallnatch)

Pogromo que llevaron a cabo por los nazis en toda Alemania y Austria en la noche del 9 al 10 de noviembre de 1938. El nombre hace referencia a las vidrieras de los comercios destrozadas por los vándalos. Oficialmente constituyó una represalia por el asesinato de un funcionario de la embajada alemana llamado Ernst von Rath a manos de un joven refugiado judío, Herschel Grynszpan. Fue el 7 de noviembre en París.

El 9 de noviembre, Von Rath murió a causa de sus heridas. Esa misma noche, un grupo de jerarcas nazis se reunió en Múnich para conmemorar el aniversario del intento fallido de Hitler de tomar el gobierno de Baviera en 1923. El ministro de propaganda nazi, Joseph Göbbels, señaló que había llegado la hora de golpear a los judíos. Los líderes nazis enviaron instrucciones a sus hombres en todo el país. El pogromo tenía que parecer popular y espontáneo, y los activistas debían incorporarse después.

En pocas horas estallaron graves disturbios en numerosas ciudades. Las vidrieras de los negocios judíos fueron destrozadas y los locales saqueados. Se incendiaron centenares de sinagogas y hogares judíos y muchos de ellos fueron atacados físicamente. Alrededor de 30.000 fueron arrestados y deportados a los campos de concentración en Dachau, Sachsenhausen y Buchenwald. En esos lugares se los hizo objeto de tratos brutales y muchos murieron. Durante el pogromo mismo, asesinaron a 90 judíos.

Al finalizar este ataque, los nazis continuaron con otro tipo de severas medidas antijudías. El proceso de arianización, la apropiación de bienes y propiedades judías, se aceleró: a la comunidad judía la obligaron a pagar una multa de 1.000 millones de marcos, como indemnización por la muerte de Von Rath, y los alemanes crearon una Oficina Central para la Emigración Judía (Zentralstelle für jüdische Auswanderung) para «estimular» a los judíos a que abandonasen Alemania.

Los países occidentales y la Unión Soviética se conmovieron por el pogrom de la Kristallnacht, y como resultado de ello algunos gobiernos comenzaron a permitir el ingreso de un mayor número de refugiados. Sin embargo, los nazis no se desanimaron y continuaron forjando su plan de eliminar al judaísmo europeo.
