Una sobreviviente del Holocausto que resultó gravemente herida cuando un cohete disparado desde la Franja de Gaza destruyó su casa en Ashkelón el año pasado falleció la madrugada del domingo, a los 91 años, informó Enlace Judío.
Naomi Perlman sufrió heridas de metralla en la explosión que mató a su cuidadora de la India, Soumya Santosh, de 32 años. Ella fue una de las primeras víctimas mortales del conflicto de once días entre Israel y los grupos terroristas palestinos en Gaza en mayo de 2021.
La muerte de Perlman elevó a 13 el número total de víctimas israelíes en la Operación Guardián de los Muros, 12 civiles y un soldado de las FDI.
La mujer sufrió heridas graves en las piernas durante el ataque con cohetes del 11 de mayo que destruyó su casa.
Al salir del hospital tres semanas después, ingresó en un asilo de ancianos. Sin embargo, volvió al hospital varias veces en los últimos nueve meses, debido a que sus lesiones requerían seguimiento y cirugía, informó la cadena pública Kan.
Le sobreviven su hijo Shuki Perlman y su hija Tzipi Malaj, ocho nietos y 12 bisnietos. Su descendiente más reciente nació la semana pasada, según el reporte.
“Sobrevivió al Holocausto y formó una familia maravillosa”, dijo, y comentó que su madre fue una de las primeras residentes de lo que se convertiría en la concurrida ciudad portuaria de Ashkelón.

La última vez que vio a su madre fue el sábado por la noche.
“Si hay alguien a quien se puede llamar sobreviviente es ella”, expresó su hijo y añadió que al principio no pensó que su madre sobreviviría al ataque, ya que no tenía pulso cuando la llevaron al hospital.
Las fotografías de Perlman después del ataque y de su casa destruida se incluyeron recientemente en una exposición anual de imágenes de medios de comunicación en el Museo Eretz Israel de Tel Aviv.
Noami Perlman nació en 1931 en Sosnowiec, Polonia. Su familia logró huir a Ucrania y de allí a Uzbekistán.
Después de la guerra, la familia regresó a su hogar, pero encontró la ciudad destruida, un fuerte antisemitismo y sus posesiones confiscadas.
Emigró a Israel en 1950 y se instaló en lo que sería Ashkelón. Allí, Noami conoció a Yankele, también sobreviviente del Holocausto. Ambos se casaron y criaron a su familia en la ciudad portuaria.
