Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA), una organización que vigila los prejuicios antisemitas en Internet, ha realizado recientemente una encuesta que ha revelado la existencia de abundante contenido antisemita en LinkedIn que ha sido denunciado pero no eliminado.

La encuesta utilizó la definición de antisemitismo de la Alianza Internacional para la Memoria del Holocausto (IHRA) para identificar más de 100 publicaciones antisemitas. LinkedIn, el sitio web de redes sociales de negocios y empleo, se ha comprometido a oponerse a los contenidos discriminatorios, según sus “políticas de la comunidad profesional”.

Su página de políticas profesionales prohíbe el comportamiento de los usuarios que sea perjudicial, engañoso y odioso.

Por ejemplo, afirman que prohíben “los contenidos que atacan, denigran, intimidan, deshumanizan, incitan o amenazan con el odio, la violencia, la acción prejuiciosa o discriminatoria contra individuos o grupos por su raza, etnia, origen nacional, casta, género, identidad de género, orientación sexual, afiliación religiosa, edad o condición de discapacidad, reales o percibidos”.

Sin embargo, de los más de 100 mensajes “antisemitas” que encontró la encuesta, menos de un tercio (31,7%) fueron eliminados.

¿Por qué se eliminaron tan pocos mensajes antisemitas en LinkedIn?

Según el director de vigilancia de la FOA, “el problema preocupante de la publicación de contenidos antisemitas en LinkedIn es que las mismas personas que difunden contenidos de odio, también se jactan de tener varios títulos académicos y profesionales. De esta manera intentan hacer más creíble su contenido de odio. Todo el contenido reportado fue escaneado y revisado bajo un microscopio de acuerdo con las definiciones y términos de la Alianza Internacional para el Recuerdo del Holocausto. Al igual que el resto de redes sociales, LinkedIn también afirma luchar contra este fenómeno, pero desgraciadamente, nuestro estudio muestra una realidad diferente, el sistema que se supone que debe frenar este fenómeno no funciona como debería. Pedimos que LinkedIn colabore con las asociaciones y organizaciones civiles para eliminar los contenidos antisemitas de forma rápida y eficaz, y que mejore la política existente sobre los contenidos antiisraelíes considerados como antisemitas”.

El tipo de publicación antisemita más frecuente descubierto por la encuesta de la FOA representaba a los judíos e israelíes como nazis, aunque los llamamientos abiertos a la violencia contra estos grupos en LinkedIn eran menos frecuentes que en otras plataformas de medios sociales.

Sin embargo, la retórica antisemita que se propugna en los mensajes encontrados por la encuesta es temáticamente similar a gran parte del contenido antisemita que FOA ha encontrado en sus otros informes.

Por ejemplo, el informe de monitoreo de contenido antisemita de la FOA para 2020-2021 presenta mensajes como uno que compara la elección bíblica del pueblo judío con la actitud alemana nazi de superioridad racial. Otro post afirma: “el mundo detuvo el nazismo, el mundo detuvo el apartheid, el mundo debe detener el sionismo”.
