Benny Hadad, director de Aliá del Keren Leyedidut: «Nuestra tarea va a finalizar el día que no haya más judíos fuera de Israel»

El director de Aliá del Keren Leyedidut  Benny Hadad, dialogó en exclusiva con Vis á Vis tras su llegada a la Argentina luego de visitar Colombia y Perú. «Tenemos el ejercicio de periódicamente ir a visitar las comunidades y reunirnos con sus líderes para contarles sobre la ayuda del Keren Leyedidut», contó.

«Por fuera de las comunidades tradicionales, que están los laicos, los conservadores, los clubes, los ortodoxos, que es lo que ya conocemos, hay dos tipos de comunitarios muy particulares en Perú y Colombia. En Iquitos, que es una localidad de Perú, está el caso de una comunidad que son descendientes de judíos, parte de Polonia, parte de Marruecos, que vinieron hace más de 150 años y que se fueron casando con personas locales, El proceso que está ocurriendo es que se están convirtiendo al judaísmo y están eligiendo hacer Aliá», reveló.

«Después ocurre que hay otro sector de personas que no tienen antepasados judíos, pero que se sienten muy atraídos por el judaísmo, que están pasando procesos de conversión y que quieren hacer Aliá. Toda persona que el Estado de Israel reconozca que tiene el derecho a hacer Aliá, tendrá nuestra asistencia», manifestó.

Hadad, quien estaba en la entrevista junto a el Director para Iberoamérica, Gustavo Gakman, y el representante del Keren Leyedidut en Argentina, Leonardo Naidorf, habló sobre la ayuda del Keren Leyedidut a los ucranianos, el enojo de estos con Rusia y el amor hacia el Estado de Israel. También se refirió a la cantidad de Olim del último año y de cuáles países provienen.

Es la organización filantrópica más grande de Israel. Se centra en cuatro asuntos. El primero tiene que ver con ayuda a los necesitados, temas de pobreza, toda la gente que tiene dificultades para desenvolverse en Israel; luego está el asunto que tiene que ver con seguridad y situación de emergencia. Todos lo vinculado a hospitales, refugios, todo tipo de estructuras e infraestructuras vinculadas a la seguridad y a la emergencia; lo tercero es trabajar con la población judía de la ex Unión Soviética en sus países, ayudarlos al desarrollo de sus vidas ahí; y el cuarto asunto, que es el del que nos ocupamos nosotros, es el asunto de la Aliá y la Absorción. Pero, en resumen, la base central del Keren Leyedidut es identificar las necesidades básicas de las personas y darles una respuesta. El slogan que resume todo esto es que hacemos el bien, brindamos esperanza.

  • ¿En qué se diferencia de otras organizaciones?

Nosotros entendemos que el proceso es muy complejo, que necesita de mucha ayuda. Lo que hicimos nosotros fue identificar cuáles eran los aspectos que estaban más necesitados en la etapa del proceso a donde había más necesidad de ayuda y nos concentramos en esos puntos para brindar un acompañamiento mayor. Una de las claves es generar muy poco nivel de burocracia con una estructura muy pequeña y ágil. Resolver problemas muy complejos con la forma más ágil posible.

  • ¿Había un espacio vacío que había que ocupar?

Hasta hace siete años, todo el trabajo de Aliá del Keren Leyedidut era a través de esas organizaciones que ya existían. Pero en un momento identificamos que el proceso de Aliá podía ser de mucha mayor calidad y que del modo que lo veníamos haciendo con otras organizaciones no lográbamos esos resultados, por lo que decidimos tener nuestra propia estructura y tener nuestro aporte.

  • ¿Cuál es el principal motivo para hacer Aliá?

En líneas generales, cuando estamos hablando de migraciones, vos tenés dos fuerzas que operan: una fuerza que empuja y otra fuerza que tracciona. Vos tenés situaciones en el país de origen de la persona que muchas veces generan las condiciones para que la gente sienta la necesidad de irse. Y por otro lado tenés un país que los recibe y que les ofrece oportunidades, los incentiva a irse a vivir a ese país. A veces opera una de las fuerzas, a veces operan las dos al mismo tiempo. En líneas generales operan las dos al mismo tiempo. Pero la experiencia dice que es mucho más fuerte la fuerza que expulsa que la fuerza que atrae.

  • Has dicho que quieren «ayudar a la gente durante el proceso y darle apoyo». ¿Cómo lo llevan a cabo?

Brindamos asesoramiento a los olim en toda la etapa previa, asesoramiento personalizado. Ahora, una vez que ya está decidido su proceso, ya está avanzado, lo acompañamos en las cuestiones más técnicas y a prepararse para el vuelo, a definir la fecha, a entender todo lo que implica desde lo técnico subirse al avión, llegar, todas esas cuestiones. En el tercer paso nos ocupamos una vez que llegan al aeropuerto en Israel hasta que llegan a su lugar de destino. Por ejemplo, ocurrió hace unos días que una persona que llegó no estaba recibiendo el lugar que había acordado, el equipo de Argentina estuvo atento y acompañando y asistiendo hasta que la situación se ordenó. Luego de eso, una vez que ya está establecido, tenemos un vinculo donde nos contactamos, preguntamos cómo está, vamos a visitarlo, le damos un dinero adicional y vamos haciendo un seguimiento de esos primeros seis meses. Ese acompañamiento de los primeros meses va desde cuestiones administrativas, capacitación, seminarios que organizamos para olim, todo tipo de asesoramiento para que el acompañamiento del Keren sea desde que tuvieron la idea de hacer Aliá hasta que ya están establecidos en el Estado de Israel.

  • ¿De qué países hubo más Olim en el último año?

Antes de la guerra, Ucrania era el país de donde salía la mayor cantidad de Olim. En Rusia vienen más, pero en Rusia sólo opera la Agencia Judía. En resumen sería: Ucrania, Argentina, Bielorrusia, Francia y Brasil.

  • ¿Qué panorama encontraste a partir de la guerra en Ucrania?

Es una historia muy larga que voy a intentar sintetizar lo máximo posible. Lo primero que ocurrió fue recibir miles de personas en un mismo día que venían sin nada, a veces con una maleta, sin comer, y era preocuparse por las cuestiones más humanitarias. Era recibir cada día a centenares y miles de personas en situación de refugiados. De repente uno se encuentra con imágenes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, de toda la situación de los refugiados. Estaba pasando de verdad frente a los ojos de uno. En segundo lugar, una cuestión muy dramática porque de repente te encontrás no solamente vos como organización sino vos como persona siendo la única respuesta que tiene el refugiado en ese momento. Y eso te puede elevar al nivel heroico de responsabilidad de decir “pude salvar a alguien”, pero por otro lado es un peso muy grande saber que si no llegaste a tiempo a un lugar una persona no pudo salir adelante, es un peso muy grande. Además, por otro lado, la satisfacción de saber que todos los días se subían 120, 130, 160 personas a aviones, que iban a encontrarse con un futuro mejor o con un lugar seguro para sus vidas.

  • ¿Qué te decían las familias?

Primero era la sensación de abrumado porque te encontrás con personas que hace pocos días vivían una vida normal y de repente pasaron a no tener nada. Y vos te encontrás con esas personas en esa situación. También había un enojo muy grande hacia Rusia, eran sus vecinos y de repente eran los que los ponían en esa situación de peligro. Y por otro lado una gratitud y mucho amor hacia el Estado de Israel, que les estaba brindando una respuesta.

  • ¿Había gente no judía que te pedía viajar?

Nosotros teníamos habilitado brindar asistencia a las personas que iban a vivir a Israel. Cuando aparecían personas no judías, al principio les brindábamos las primeras asistencias humanitarias y después los derivábamos a los organismos que tenían el mandato para ocuparse de ellos.

  • ¿Hay mayor número de familias o de particulares en la Aliá?

La mayoría son familias.

  • Exceptuando el conflicto de Ucrania y Rusia, ¿cuáles fueron las diferencias entre 2021 y 2022?

Fuera de Ucrania, el resto de los países de la ex Unión Soviética vienen teniendo un alza en el número de Aliá. América Latina viene notando un incremento: Argentina, Chile, México, que se vinculan a situaciones económicas difíciles. En el caso de Francia los números son más estables, no aumenta la Aliá pero tampoco desciende.

  • Has comentado que los mayores donantes del Keren Leyedidut son de la Iglesia Cristiana Evangélica. ¿Cómo y por qué ocurre eso?

Todo esto empezó desde el inicio, que fue fundado por el rabino Yechiel Eckstein. Él tuvo la visión de que se podía construir un puente entre el mundo cristiano y el mundo judío. Tenía un diálogo interreligioso con diferentes credos y fueron encontrando con los evangélicos una serie de puntos en común que son los objetivos primordiales. Entonces esos sectores evangélicos decidieron aportar económicamente. Es importante aclarar que el vínculo de los evangélicos es el aporte económico y eso no está vinculado a los aspectos operativos, que son 100% judíos y no está en discusión.

  • ¿Cuáles son los próximos pasos?

La perspectiva para lo que viene no es ampliar, sino profundizar. Queremos tratar de llegar a cuantas más comunidades podamos y poder brindar ayuda y asistencia a todo judío que nos pueda necesitar. La mejor publicidad que podemos tener es la recomendación de alguien que lo vivió y que le fue útil. Yo puedo contar millones de cosas, pero nada va a ser más fuerte de aquel que lo vivió.

  • ¿En algún momento consideran tarea cumplida? ¿Cuándo?

Mientras haya judíos en cualquier país del mundo con intención de hacer Aliá vamos a tener tarea. Nuestra tarea va a finalizar el día que no haya más judíos fuera de Israel.
