NUESTRA POSICIÓN ANTE LA SITUACIÓN CREADA EN ISRAEL

Son éstos – días complejos. La sociedad israelí se encuentra en alerta.
Habiendo terminado los festejos de Pésaj, en los que conmemoramos la salida de la
esclavitud y nuestra cristalización como pueblo, están por llegar dos días de profundo
recuerdo – lom Hashoá y lom Hazikarón – que culminarán con otro día de festejos por
nuestra incorporación al concierto de las naciones: lom Haatzmaut. Son éstas fechas
en las que TODO el pueblo suele mantenerse unificado en su sentir. Esta vez, no nos
permitieron sentir unidos.

Nuestros gobernantes profundizaron críticamente las brechas existentes.

Después de haberse frenado – temporariamente – la catarata de leyes planificada por
el actual gobierno israelí (llamado por ellos mismos «de derecha pura») se reúnen en la
Residencia Presidencial diversos factores políticos para negociar una salida
consensuada a la impasse producida.

Nuestro movimiento – cuyos miembros en Israel participaron y participan de las
manifestaciones y protestas cuya meta es alentar un proceso de diálogo destinado a
lograr un consenso nacional, declara su total apoyo a:

1.- Adoptar los principios básicos existentes en la Declaración de la Independencia de
Israel como base de una legislación que dé por sentada la existencia, en un Estado
Judío y Democrático, de una sociedad pluralista, solidaria, que sirva de ejemplo vivo
para las comunidades judías en la Diáspora.

2.- Mantener la independencia del Poder Judicial, evitando su desmembramiento por
fuerzas políticas coyunturales.

3.- Crear un marco legal de control al Poder Ejecutivo que evite la perpetuación de
una personalidad en el poder.
