Bnai Brith Argentina conmemoró el 85 aniversario de la Kristallnacht en la parroquia Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, en un encuentro organizado junto a la Confraternidad Argentina Judeo Cristiana, la Comisión de Ecumenismo y Diálogo Interreligioso de la Arquidiócesis de Buenos Aires y el Museo del Holocausto de Buenos Aires.
Estuvieron presentes los embajadores de Israel, Eyal Sela; de Suecia, Torsten Sven Ericsson; de Alemania, Dieter Lamlé; de Hungría, Peter Kveck, y de España, María Jesús Alonso. También participaron el presbítero Alejandro Bertolini, doctor en en Teología por la Pontificia Universidad Lateranense; la Rabina Silvina Chemen, de la Comunidad Bet El y miembro del Centro de Diálogo Interreligioso del Seminario Rabínico latinoamericano y la embajadora de la Alianza Internacional para la Memoria del Holocausto (IHRA) y representante especial para la Lucha contra el Antisemitismo de la Argentina, María Fabiana Loguzzo. Estuvieron también acompañando la Subsecretaria de Derechos Humanos y Pluralismo Cultural de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Pamela Malewicz y representes de las diferentes instituciones judías.
Durante el emotivo acto tuvo lugar el encendido de seis velas, en homenaje a las víctimas de la Shoa, contando con la presencia de sobrevivientes y destacadas personalidades. Asimismo se encendió una séptima vela en homenaje a las víctimas del terrorismo de Hamas en Israel.
La Presidente de la Bnai Brith, Susana Chalon, fue quien guio la ceremonia e hizo un pedido de recordación y un minuto de silencio en memoria de todas las víctimas de la SHOA y de las más de 1400 personas que fueron asesinadas el pasado 7 de octubre y pidió por la liberación de las 230 personas que aún se encuentran secuestradas.
Año tras año Bnai Brith organiza este evento que busca mantener viva la memoria para que estos aberrantes hechos en contra de la humanidad no vuelvan a repetirse jamás. Asimismo busca fomentar el diálogo entre las diferentes religiones y tradiciones espirituales luchando, incansablemente, contra todo tipo de discriminación, xenofobia y racismo, en pos de los derechos humanos, los principios democráticos, el pluralismo y la República.
