Una declaración posterior, el político dijo que él y Demkiw “discutieron el reciente aumento de incidentes antisemitas en Toronto y hablaron sobre su compromiso compartido de mantener segura a la gente en toda la ciudad”.
Justin Trudeau también se reunió con líderes de la comunidad judía en Toronto que están preocupados por el aumento del antisemitismo tras el ataque de Hamás contra Israel el 7 de octubre.
“A los miembros de la comunidad judía que hablaron con nosotros hoy: gracias. Gracias por hablar con tanta franqueza sobre su dolor, su ira y su pena», señaló.
