Un libanés fue detenido intentando cruzar a Texas, y admtió que es miembro del grupo terrorista Hezbollah y que planeaba viajar a Nueva York para “fabricar una bomba”.
Se trata de Basel Bassel Ebbadi, de 22 años, a quien detuvo la policía fronteriza de Estados Unidos cerca de El Paso, Texas.
Durante la entrevista posterior al arresto, el ciudadano libanés dijo que se había “entrenado para la yihad” durante siete años con el grupo terrorista Hezbollah, y que su idea era viajar a Nueva York para perpetrar un atentado.
Ebbadi afirmó que su entrenamiento se centró en matar personas “que no son musulmanas” y que pasó cuatro años adicionales como guardia armado protegiendo los activos de Hezbollah en el Líbano.
Cuando los agentes de inmigración le preguntaron por qué viajó a EE.UU., Ebbadi aclaró que se dirigía a Nueva York, donde “iba a intentar fabricar una bomba”.
Sin embargo, más adelante en la entrevista, Ebbadi se contradijo y afirmó que estaba buscando refugio en EE.UU. para escapar del terror rampante en su país de origen.
