El gobierno de Estados Unidos confirmó el pasado lunes que Marwan Issa, el subcomandante del ala militar de Hamás, fue eliminado en un ataque aéreo de Israel la semana pasada.
El asesor de seguridad nacional de estadounidense, Jake Sullivan, dijo a los periodistas que tras la muerte del terrorista, “el resto de los principales líderes están escondidos, probablemente en lo profundo de la red de túneles de Hamás, y la justicia llegará para ellos también. Estamos ayudando a garantizar eso”.
Hace una semana, aviones de las FDI atacaron el campamento de Nuseirat en Gaza después de obtener información de inteligencia precisa sobre el paradero de Marwan Issa.
Por su parte, las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel aún no han confirmado la muerte de Issa.
Anoche, el jefe de las FDI, Herzi Halevi, sugirió que Hamás estaba tratando “con todas sus fuerzas de ocultar” el destino de líderes como Issa.
En paralelo, Hamás confirmó la muerte del terrorista, según reportes de los medios libaneses.
Además, según expresaron informes locales, la organización terrorista también teme que Israel intente llegar a la zona donde murió primero para recuperar su cuerpo y utilizarlo como moneda de cambio.
