La comisión de Acuerdos del Senado de la Nación recibió este mediodía a los candidatos a embajadores propuestos por el Gobierno nacional.
Son seis los pliegos que giró el presidente Javier Milei a la Cámara alta, el 9 enero pasado.
El pedido para obtener el aval incluye al embajador en Israel, quien sería el rabino Axel Wahnish; en Estados Unidos, Gerardo Werthein; en India, Mariano Caucino; en Paraguay, Guillermo Nielsen, y en Francia, Ian Sielecki.
Durante la sesión, resultaron polémicas las expresiones de la senadora por Catamarca de Unión por la Patria, Lucía Corpacci, quien dos veces conminó al rabino de que él es «embajador argentino en Israel», argentino repitió con énfasis. Esto motivó el repudio de la Diputada del PRO, Sabrina Ajmechet, quien afirmó: «¿Desde cuando un rabino tiene que aclarar que es argentino?»
Lucía Benigna Corpacci Saadi es una médica y política argentina. En la provincia de Catamarca, fue elegida vicegobernadora en 2007 y senadora nacional. Fue gobernadora de dicha provincia entre el año 2011 y 2019, habiendo sido reelecta en el año 2015. Su discurso en el senado fue el siguiente:
«A todos nos duele los muertos en situaciones de violencia. Sean del país que sean. Es muy importante dejar eso en claro. Cómo también es importante dejar en claro que usted va a ser Embajador argentino en Israel, ¡argentino!. Argentina es un territorio de paz y por lo tanto cualquier decisión que se tome, como la que planteó el senador Lousteu o la senadora Fernández Sagasti, nos pone en situación de debilidad y de conflicto a todos los argentinos. Y eso es algo que usted tiene que tener muy en claro. Porque vuelvo a repetir, usted no es el embajador de Israel en Argentina, es el embajador de Argentina en Israel»
