El presidente de Israel, Isaac Herzog, le envió una carta a su par argentino Javier Milei por su respaldo público a raíz de la escalada de la tensión en Medio Oriente tras el ataque de Irán con drones y misiles. En su misiva, difundida hoy por la Oficina del Presidente, lo calificó como ”un amigo y un aliado leal”.
“En nombre del Estado de Israel y su pueblo, escribo para expresar mi profundo agradecimiento por su apoyo inquebrantable tras el último ataque iraní contra nuestro pueblo. Ha sido un amigo y aliado leal de Israel y le estaremos agradecidos por su incondicional compromiso con nuestra seguridad”, destacó Herzog.
“No fueron simplemente un ataque contra el pueblo judío, sino un asalto a los valores del mundo occidental. Fogoneado por el odio y la intolerancia, Hamas no distinguió entre judíos, cristianos, ni musulmanes. Estos terroristas asesinaron, violaron y secuestraron a decenas de ciudadanos de distintas naciones, incluida la Argentina”, mencionó.
“Durante décadas, Irán ha sido patrocinador oficial del terror global. La reciente decisión judicial argentina que declaró culpable a Irán de desempeñar un papel directo en la coordinación de los atroces bombardeos terroristas a la embajada de Israel en Argentina y a la Asociación Mutual Israelita en Argentina, fue un importante paso en el camino hacia la justicia para las víctimas. A fines de este verano se cumplirán 30 años de esta horrible tragedia en el centro comunitario AMIA. Ese sombrío hito sirve como recordatorio de que debemos continuar unidos contra Irán y sus proxis”, puntualizó Herzog.
Además del presidente israelí, el embajador en Argentina, Eyal Sela, también reconoció el posicionamiento de Milei con relación al ataque de Irán. “Lo importante es que en el mundo, igual aquí en Argentina, el Gobierno, el presidente y otros están claramente en contra de este tipo de ataques”, sostuvo.
